Revolution Brewing (2020)

I maxed out most releases last year and also got quite a few points by taking the family to brunch or lunch at the brewpub a few times per year. Sadly, I won’t be able to do the latter for quite some time.

 

I’m just saying, try Maple before you have a Deth’s. It makes a world of difference. But yeah, Deth’s is the shit this year.

 

Tar has been the shit for like 3 years running now.

 

I can't remember exactly but it was something like this:
In the past you've mentioned canning the Deep Woods beers and getting access to fresh spirits barrels as two of the reasons why Deep Woods beers have taken such a step up in the last 4 years. Are there any other factors that you can point to for the improvement like changes to the base beers or other factors we might not consider?
I also asked for a hint on the kind of beer that the TBA collaboration was going to be. There was not really a response to that but there was some chat information as to who the brewery was but I don't really want to spread that as I think it was just a rumor.

 

Pretty sure one of the main reasons for this board is to spread rumors, but I respect your restraint!

 

I won't disagree, but Cafe has always been my favorite of the two (coffee stout fanboy here). This may be the first year Tar tops Cafe for me. But that's still TBD.

 

I'll spread unsubstantiated rumors all day, like I heard it's going to be a three way collab between Rev, Side Project, and Fremont for a barleywine call Very Special Old Brewnabasis that has equal parts VSOJ, Double Barrel Anabasis, and Brew 4000. But this felt like maybe it wasn't supposed to be publicly shared. I don't want to shit on their announcement and get my Fanboy FUPA God card get taken away.

 

Late to Beer Advocate today, didn't see the fact that Revolution Brewpub will be closed until at least March 2021, due to the current health issues, restrictions and fact the current model is not financially sustainable.

Can't wait to pick up the new WCIPA, will also pick up Hero in Training #3 (hope the beer reaches full Hero status next year) and the new variety pack next week. Read good things so far about the new WCIPA, looking for a solid offering to make up for 2020 killing (hopefully temporarily) Spiteful's 10/9 Bike Messenger Appreciation IPA and Revolution's Farm to Fist, two of my favorite releases.

Hope all in a position to do so can consider tipping the Revolution crew and other service workers during this time. Hit Fountainhead for the last time yesterday, hopefully Hopleaf can hang on, many others will be in trouble the next 6-18 + months.

Wait... one 4 pack per person for regular Tar at Binny's?

 

I think it’s 4 X four-packs per person. That’s what some Binny’s did for Thundertaker.

I totally misread it, you’re right. Maybe because I’m having a tough time believing it’s only one 4pack per person.

 

Dumb question ordering curbside; is there a time limit to pick up your order? Meaning can I place an order today for Friday? I will be in town picking up my dark lord and might make a trip DT.

Can you believe they sold out of Deth's Tar but still have Maple and Cafe? Great news is that Deth's Tar 4pks will be widely available at retail outlets.

 

It's going to go quick. I know one of my local Binny's had about 10-12 cases of it. I picked up 4x 4packs last week.

 

Well, yeah, if everyone is grabbing almost a case of it, sure, it will go fast.
