So i waited too long and Maple sold out at the brewpub. have there been any Cafe or Deth sightings at any Binnys or stores on the South Side? Trying to figure out options when I am in town on Friday for DLD pickup. Thanks in advance!

Santori’s in Lansing had Tar and Cafe last Friday. Not far from FFF.

Binny's Evergreen Park had Cafe and Deth still there as of Monday.

While I'll admit to being slightly underwhelmed by Maple Deth (a little thin as others have said, and I'm starting to crave sweeter stouts less and less), it and Rev's release calendar successfully convinced me to stay away from HA's Benthic release this year (one of my fave BA beers). I end up getting sick of Benthic pretty quickly since it's so sweet, and am constantly salty I don't have more Rev stouts, so I figured it was time to look my FOMO in the eye. :stuck_out_tongue:

Also, Bitter Pops has some Deth's left if people are still searching.

Sit on your Benthic longer. I just had a 19, and it's not really sweet at all. Almost no coconut, and tiniest bit of coffee. Mostly just a non-adjunct, BA stout.

The program has grown significantly and the amount that travels out of state is still very small. This year there was higher than usual demand, and more positive reviews than we've ever seen which spread quickly. It's also just hitting the market, and a little more sporadically just because of some variables around logistics. If you want some and go after it this month, I think you'll be well taken care of. It just may not be there for your reloads in future months like it has in the past. We'll respond, but it takes time to catch up to unpredictable changes like this. Glad you're all mostly digging the beers. Not every single variant (like Maple) is for everyone and that's A-ok. Lots of cool stuff coming down the line.

@BeerCruncher Thanks for the insight into the program! Cool to hear you guys are just killing it instead of it being a case of sending it to more locales. I had my first 2020 Deth's Tar yesterday and thought it was way better balanced that 2019's effort. Personally picked up vanilla, oak, cola, hint of dark fruit and a greater balance of all elements rather than how I perceived 2019 as a bit dark fruit heavy. Found a second pack today. Ironically, I bought the last pack at two different locations between today and yesterday. The product is apparently flying off shelves.

    Keep slaying it.

Deths are in the wild in MKE. Not sure exactly when it came in or whether they had more in back, but quantity at my local Woodmans (where it lasted over a week last year) did not look huge.

Got a solid amount in Cleveland and I have to say this year's Regular is by far the best Regular Deth I've ever had and Cafe is as good as ever.

Coconut is all I want from the damn thing, lol. I've got one left in the fridge though, so I'll give it a shot.

Also, I'm assuming these are old as hell and have been sitting out, but I saw some Cafe and Deth by Plums (you can see why I assume the beer is old) at the Foremost on Ashland and Wellington, if anyone is feeling brave.

All the rave reviews for regular Deth make me think DBVSOD is going to make my taste buds and brain explode simultaneously

I had '18 DBVSOD last year on draft at a Deep Woods release and found it fantastic. Had a thicker viscosity than reg DT and exactly what I was after. VSOD itself was a homerun and I have rationed down to my last 2 cans. Last time I had one was in April and my review was "Fuck ALL this is good!" DBVSOD will soften the blow of drinking those last cans of '19 VSOD. I'll max out whatever limit Rev will give me on Double Barrel.

I’ve long since run out of my DBVSOD so it’s time for a re-up. As a matter of fact, I’m down to only a couple cans of the cuvée and X as well. This pandemic hasn’t been kind to my cellar

I believe it’s the release slated for December 10-11. Could be wrong though

EDIT: just looked it up. Dec 11-12 :+1:

    Thank you for that.

Is this also going to be a public sale after Rev rewards members get first dibs?
