@BeerCruncher What's the prize if someone gets the right blend for this years release?

They get to continue to be in charge of the barrel blending program.

I haven't even had the last two but this strikes me as the objectively correct answer.

Based on this discussion, I think I'll try a Deth by Cherry Jackets this weekend.

A rye old fashioned inspired blend might be a little too kitschy for Rev, but Id like to see something like 50% ryeway, 30% deth by cherries and 20% thunder taker .

This last page has me convinced Rev needs to have a ticketed night where for a $1,000 per person, you get to go into the barrel warehouse and experiment with their barrels to come up with your own blend.

Seems like you want a modified cherry rye which I’d like to second

DBVSOJ Cherry Rye might be my favorite Rev product of all time and this definitely would be a fun twist on that.

I really dislike beers that try to mimic cocktails.

However, if anyone could change my mind, it would probably be Rev, and I'd absolutely buy the maximum allotment.

    Dear Rev,

Please no fruit cuvees. Please stout and barley/rye wine cuvees. This is the way. Also, I love X.

    Sincerely,

A guy who is too tired and cranky for a beer website or good jokes right now

Yeah I don’t like cocktail inspired beers either , but Revs barleywines/rye wines give me bourbon/rye-lite vibes anyway. Ryeway tends to be drier, so adding a fruit and sweet stout element might work as an “old fashioned “
I’m tempted to try to create my proposed blend at home, though I don’t think i can bring myself to use my last can of thundertaker on it .

I don’t believe we ever intend to use fruit in a Cuvée de Gracê, definitely not this one. This will not be as simple as XX% of a few Deep Wood barrels adding up to 100%. What’s the fun in that? This will have a lot of one-off components and be pretty different from anything else we’ve done.

Not as simple as adding up barrels to 100% eh? Are we taking Steiner math?

Why so many cherry-cherry-cherry suggestions? Geez just drink the already solid cherry beers they produced.

When I think of cuvees, I think of blending barrels, and I want all that magic to create a new experience. I'd prefer they stay away from masking what all the barrel components can bring to the table with added flavorings.
