Rev never posts when it is on sale- last time they posted hours after it was live and DBVSOD was long gone. It is just onsale in the web store at some point Tuesday morning. Your best bet will be to look here for someone posting it is live.

Think with DBVSOD they did post around when it went live (at least in the FB event). The prior one was hours after the fact

The only thing I will say, is, it is 16oz cans, not 12oz, so its not quite as bad as it might initially seem. But yea, its higher than I expected.

My thoughts too since it's a porter with no adjuncts - was thinking $30 at most. But it is a collaboration, in 16oz cans, and they used Willet barrels...

I saw the November presale email cutoff was 799, and December was over that. I would guess 1000 is safe, over 900 seems probable, 850 is gonna be close.:thinking_face::thinking_face:
(we're talking points dating back to 1/1/19, not lifetime points)

And Rev did post some info on Instagram! (with event page link that is on Facebook - LOL!):

Don’t forget Half Acre just charged $30 for a 2 pack of 16oz Benthic. If this is really one of the best beers Rev has done like they claim, then I am sure this is being looked at more like Benthic than Orin.
Yes, I stand corrected and remember now that the FB event page was updated live for the last one. My brain was stuck on the complaining on the main Rev post later that day about the DBVSOD being gone already. Thanks for the reminder- I would bet they do it live again in the event page.

Deth’s tar is .52/oz, regular benthic is .84/oz, the collaboration is .62/oz.

They truly lived up the spirit of collaboration in every way!

64oz of BA Stout for $40? Seems like a deal to me. Significantly under the $1/Oz marker

I somehow missed that they were in 16oz cans (why??) so I guess $30 would be the price point comparison to normal Rev releases which I guess is in the ball park. Not sure why they'd be in 16oz cans but so be it. I'd much prefer a 4 pack of 12oz cans at $30.

I mean, not sure we should compare the price points for a non-adjunct BA Porter with a heavy adjuncted BA stout.

Half Acre will also be releasing some take on this porter collab and they pretty much only do 16oz cans so I'm guessing they wanted both releases to be in the same format. Also makes comparisons easier if you're pouring both at a share and want even-sized pours.

Thanks! I also wonder at what point they are going drop off 2019 points and only use points from 2020 and 2021?

I'm curious as well why they went into 16oz cans? Is this to show it is a collab and thus went in the other breweries format and when HA does the other one it will be in boxed 12oz 4 packs?

I mean, why wouldn’t we compare flagship BA beer prices from the two breweries involved? I guess if you don’t think about Benthic you can just keep railing about the price and pretend this is the first time Half Acre charged a higher price point (which, again at $10 for a 16 oz can is far cheaper than the Prairie beers that get snatched up, and far cheaper than any of the other specialty single DW offerings.)

It is also the first collaboration (and a BA collaboration at that) between two juggernauts of Chicago with arguably the two most consistent barrel programs in the city, so demand alone dictates a higher price than Orin ($30/4 pack). Rev is saying it is one of the best beers they’ve put out as well, so maybe you are getting hung up on the porter label a little too much if you think this pricing is out of whack.

Rev's rotating special releases and prior collabs (think Hop Butcher) were all those black 16 oz cans with the sticky labels - all their 12 oz cans are printed so I am guessing they went with those 16 oz cans.

How much was Thundertaker? I mean, that wasn't adjuncted so it would be pretty even correlation once adjusted to different can oz size.
