The can of VSODM was outstanding - it's Dark Mode with a touch more barrel and depth.
Straight Jacket is fantastic as I expected (as usual), and it's 11:47pm and I'm trying to NOT open the Ryeway to Heaven. Have a great weekend!

 

Translation: More ale aged in barrels of Rivendell Wine or with smoked malts from The Shire.

Hard to find a good activated charcoal latte in the Midwest.

 

Does anyone know if VSODM is going to hit distro or brewery only? (Sorry for the mundane question but I couldn’t find this easily on the website).

Looks like MN is out of luck for this release. I contacted Rev to confirm and I will post when I hear back.

not bad. not my favorite DW.

 

Lux 18 is one of the best Rev BA beers i've had ... thick, rich, but not too sweet ... just awesome.

Ryeway was great as usual but unfortunately the rest of today's pours underwhelmed ... Apple Brandy was thin and a bit sour for my taste ... Double Barrel VSODM gave me the same reaction as DB Benthic did last week --- thin, a bit watery and unbalanced.

Not trying to start a fight with anyone but I was hoping for more. Dark Mode was a solid pour but didn't push me to buy a 4pk.

 

Yeah the Lux is really good!

I’m a bit higher on the apple brandy, I thought that was really well done, and I don’t think it was thin at all.

For me though, the star of the show is the 2019 boss jacket. Incredible stuff, don’t sleep on it.

 

I’m with you on the VSODM. I enjoyed the double-barrel draft yesterday, but the can of VSODM I had last night wasn’t really up to the standard I expect from rev’s “VSO” offerings. I chalked it up somewhat to personal preference, as I find the hint of smokiness in Dark Mode, which was still present in the vso version, to be off putting.

 

You were at Pour Bros the same time I was today! That Boss VSOJ was stunning beer.
