Has to be a pricing error as the 24 can pack is $36 and they don’t have an actual 12 pack it is “Price is for two six-packs of 12oz cans. Shipping & tax are not included. Limit 1 per order.)

All 4 draft variants are still listed at the taproom, and none were offered as crowler fills to season ticket holders.

Revolution sits on a throne of LIES!

I’ve never fully understand their crowler policy. I’m guessing last year’s prefilled sales were lackluster. But why not fill on demand? I get waiting until after release weekend to preserve it on draft because I love that option too and it’d be nice to revisit some this weekend. Restrict fills to season ticket holders if you want (I don’t care either way) to throw them a perk, similar to the old League at Modern Times. I’d take advantage not every time but occasionally.

My plan to show up a week late to the party and try the variants is shaping up nicely

Because usually there's like 1/3 of a sixtel left, which is a handful of a crowlers and not worth advertising and making a fuss over. Why not just sell them in 5oz and 9oz tasters to taproom patrons? Sometimes a variant can be made in a way that multiple barrels can be made and thus crowlers are possible. Most of the time it's a single barrel and the majority gets poured through over the Friday/Saturday of the release.

Thanks, that’s entirely logical. For the record, I do appreciate having special stuff on draft at taprooms (and brewpubs!) and those are the pours I’m more likely to order. I’m just also of the old school who came of age with growler fills and occasionally wish I could greedily take home something special for enjoyment later.

Anyone with thoughts on the new Deth's Tar and Cafe Deth? How do they compare to past years

Speaking for Cafe Deth, it's drinking great right now and unlike past years I feel like I've finally learned my lesson and will finish them within a month or two instead of waiting. Substantial body with lots of roast and chocolate notes. It didn't come across as very acidic, which I've found with many recent coffee stouts.

Enjoying Cafe Deth as well although always feel am overly critical with it for how high the bar was set early. When it first was on draft, it blew me away like early BCBCS did, just revelatory as to what BA coffee stout could be. Then I thought there were some years of more fruity coffee flavor which was not my thing. This year, it’s not that at all but has almost a dry finish, and perhaps less of a coffee punch than I’d hope for. Probably best because if was tweaked a few ways more to my liking I’d buy cases of it for the year.

As a side note, I noticed there were Cafe Deth bombers from pre-2015 on untappd? Was that just a thing I missed at the time? For some reason always thought it was draft debut and then to cans.

I remember "Bene Gene" in bombers but not Cafe Deth.

I apparently had a Helluland in 2020, although I have NO recollection of drinking it, nor where I got it (definitely didn't cellar it). It was a 2016 and I noted it held up pretty well.

I would LOVE to see Revolution make a Deep Wood brown ale again!

Helluland and Markland - two fo the more unique BA beers Rev ever produced.

@BeerCruncher out of total curiosity do any bottles of either of those still exist at Rev?

Yeah I *think* Café Deth was first packaged in bombers in 2016 but maybe someone can confirm. Here are the Dec 2016 release details from the Wayback Machine (bold emphasis mine).

Firestone Walker did a collab with Cigar City a few years ago called Los Lenadores. It was an imperial brown aged in Rye whiskey barrels and at some point hit with amburana. It was amazing and I'd love to see a take on this. Just in case @BeerCruncher is taking notes on our bullshit.

Easily one of the coolest barrel aged beers I’ve ever had.

I think we blew all those out in a few cellar sales a few years ago but sometimes we love hang onto like 5 cases cause we can't quite let go, but I don't think so in this case.
Our barrel-aged brown ales, aka the entire Working Woman series of riffs (Winter Mom, etc.), tends to come out of the Brewpub for batch sizing reasons. I appreciate that there's interest in a barrel-aged brown ale but would worry about being able to sell through our minimum size with a Kedzie batch. This is an instance where I'd love to try out my dream of opening a pre-order (deposit) screen with a concept and if XXX people put a deposit down we'll make the beer, but if we don't get that magic number of interest, we refund all the deposits and don't make the beer. If we do, that deposit goes toward the purchase. I joke that I need this mechanism to make 1ZENUFF again. I don't actually plan to do this, but a fun hypothetical.
