Anyone comment based on previous releases if 'pre sale' beers never make it to the public drop later in the week?

 

It depends, I think the last one to sell out in presale was DBVSOJ. I would have guessed the summer releases might have, but I think Cuvee lingered. My suspicion is that the Season Ticket program has helped them better gauge production rates and that people most likely to want multiples probably secured them that way, so we're more likely to see excess available.

If DBVSOD does sell out in presale, you can always keep your eyes on Tavour. There have also been releases where they've sold a couple few cases at the pub but if so it'll be a pleasant surprise, not something to count on.

EDIT - also, it was great to get Destroyed By the Empire last night. And unbelievably, Thundertaker Express was still on the board! I couldn't resist another go at that one.

 

Just popped into Rev to try the Goldfinger collab. They have Red Skull on draft (yay!). But the server said they aren’t doing cans this year because it was brewed at the pub (very big boo if this is true). @BeerCruncher?

 

I cannot find the description for DB VSOD. I swear I read it more than once. Am I imagining this, or just dumb? Someone please help.

Straight Jacket, Ryeway to Heaven, and Double Barrel V.S.O.D.

Barrel no. 7401 - D.B.V.S.O.D. Money Barrel with Troncais Forte French Oak 17.6% (Single Barrel)

Every once in a while we sample a barrel that just makes our day. This was one such barrel. Aged in a blend of Weller, Blantons, and Stagg Jr. bourbon barrels, then rebarreled in Buffalo Trace with additional single-origin Troncais Forte French oak, this singular example of Double Barrel V.S.O.D. has a bouquet more like a heavily-oaked French red than Bourbon Barrel Stout.


V.S.O. Boss Lumberstruck - 13.0% (Single Barrel)

2022’s Black Barleywine unblended sweet component aged for two years in a French oak WhistlePig The Boss Hog VIII Lapulapu’s Pacific Rye/Rum barrel. Extended time in-barrel has transformed its once heady malt sweetness into a cherry and stone fruit menagerie balanced by toasty, uncharred oak.


Very Old Thundertaker - 16.2% (SIngle Barrel)

Thirty months in a single Yellowstone Bourbon barrel has turned this Imperial Rye Stout into a chocolatey, boozy caricature of itself. Waves of malt-derrived cocoa and marzipan smash against a breakwall of oaken vanilla in this long-aged expression of Thundertaker.

We’ve got a slate of great bars and restaurants previewing the new Deep Wood releases on November 9 and showcasing them on November 16.

How flexible is Revolution with their 30 day pick-up window? I'll be in the area for work December 8th and 9th, which falls inside their window, but there's a small chance my meeting will get bumped to the following week.

Am I screwed if I purchased a few packs tomorrow and can't get there until December 16th?

 

Communication with Revolution tends to work wonderfully. They usually work with you so long as you give them a heads up.

 

Good to know. I reached out to Rev directly but didn't hear back so I figured I'd give the group here a try since others might have previously been in the same situation.

 

I sent an email to Rev last Tuesday asking about an extension on the pickup window but didn't get a reply. I always received a reply for inquiries in the past, sometimes within an hour, so this was certainly a departure from normal. I imagine that it's a crazy busy time of year for them. It's not hard to find a proxy here on BA if you need one.

 

Saying pick up isn't available DBVSOD. Anyone else having this issue?
