Tried searching the forums as well as the web. Have a quick question for you guys. I have 2 bottles of straight jacket that I believe are 2 different years, been searching all over the bottle and can't find a bottle date. How can I tell which year is which, or even which year I've got? Also how many vintages of straight jacket are there? Thanks in advanced!
Usually printed vertically on the right hand side of the label, IIRC. it can be VERY faint. I wouldn't think you'd be able to rub it off as it's ink on paper. but where there is a will, there is a way.
Rev's bottle dating needs much improvement imo. The date is first three letters of month followed by day & last two digits of year (e.g., Jul 17 14). Was just now looking at some bottles of Straight Jacket and I could not even read this year's bottle date (was located on the label under the barrel). It is there but incredibly faint. Last year's bottle was not much better (on the right side of the label) but I could read the '14' at least. The box from 2012 actually had the year printed on the box but I'm sure that feature was discontinued for cost savings reasons. The bottle date from that year was much better however. The ink is clearly legible. Also, I bought a bottle of Citra-Hero last week and I could not find any date at all. Their can dates are great, their bottle dates not so much unfortunately.
I couldn't find any date on the Citra Hero I bought yesterday. Granted freshness wouldn't be an issue with the bombered "Hero" series, but definitely could cause problems for Double Fist.
I wonder if you can't see the bottle date on the Hero series because the date is in black ink and the label is mostly black so you just can't read it
Well it's right under the barrel but I can't read it either lol. So is it safe to assume it's this years, but whould that make it a 2014 Thanks guys!
