Hey, let’s slow this train down a bit. I’d prefer if this year’s was as easy to obtain as the first few rounds last year.

 

Rev and GI should be required to make a BCBS/Deth Tar blend for Fobab this year.

 

why would you want to make BCBS worse?

Yeah the first release was no line when I arrived, and was about 2 hours for the final release.

 

Yeah, I was thinking about mentioning this myself. Aside from the Deep Wood Series just being really tasty, the lack of stupid BCBS-level hype made it one of my favorite big BA releases. I'm sure the other shoe will drop at some point, I just hope it's not this year.

 

I really think it comes down to whether they expand their distribution footprint of the beer. They were good on supply/demand for Chicago so I don't see that changing. I'd be interested in the non-coffee variants, but wasn't blown away enough to repeat the non new stuff.

 

I'm down to try it all as I loved everything last year. But the big item is VSOJ. I'll fight all of you for some VSOJ cans.

 

I'm waffling between that and what I assume will be improved VSOD (since last year's Deth's Tar was fantastic). But yeah, VSOJ is probably the one we shouldn't talk about out loud (for fear of anyone else hearing).

 

Are we sure the VS variants will be available this year? Don't they age for like 2 years?

 

No reason to believe they aren't constantly putting stuff in barrels so that they have VS to release each year.

 

Well, I won't be sure until next week, when that link goes live. But I figured that 1) last year's Deth's Tar was a year old, so that same DT would be VSOD this year if they kept any, and 2) in the 2017 thread they mentioned VSOJ should be coming sometime relatively soon (I think).

I'm too lazy to find it but I'm almost certain it was all-but-confirmed on this site that VSOJ cans would be released in October of this year.

 

Odds they jump into the pastry stout game with a matcha donut deths tar?

 

It was confirmed; I checked in with an employee on here about a month ago.
