But they're ghosts by the time we get them...or shelf turds. I thought Stone was "meh" until I had it fresh at the Bistro.

I agree you have to really pay attention to Best By/Bottled on dates, especially with beers from the West Coast. I was lucky recently to have found Sculpin that was about a month old, finding that one fresh is tough. Cause for celebration.

I disagree wholeheartedly. There are beers brewed in MA that are better than any of the beers you listed. All of the best beers are small batch stuff that stays local. I'm sure the same is true out west and they have some local stuff that is as good as Trillium or Treehouse, but nothing with national distribution is as good for my money as something fresh and local and brewed with love

Hahahaha. I agree our beer scene here is ok not great however we are within reasonable drives from many other better places so I don't think Rhode Island is too bad.

Do most of you guys drive to Mass to get major distro craft? I've looked at seek a brew and it seems like a lot of the major med west beers only go Mass. Or do you find them in Rhode Island? Thanks for all the tips they are definitely calming my craft nerves!
