What is your favorite place to shop up to 15 minutes outside the state? Any awesome customer service stories. Not really hunting for whales, just looking for a great bottle shop you love going to, a laid back place you think I should give my business to. May also be headed to boston for a day trip, Im equally as unfamiliar with MA, whats your favorite spot to grab a beer? Again great service is preferable but good cheap beer, or cheap cheap beer is also a plus. Dank food is also a kicker obviously. Thanks, Cheers!
i like yankee spirits in Attleboro MA (<5mins out of state) and Chris Gasparros also in Attleboro for good selection and at least neutral customer service but not really much like any of the smaller places that you will have someone talk to you about beers or whatever. When I lived in narragansett i liked Pier Liquors right on the pier and Kingstown Liquors in quonset always had good prices and good selection. To grab a drink/food I like dohertys in pawtucket, 82 beers on tap and I have never been disappointed by the food, the service can be hit or miss, some of them are awesome and some of them are kind of rude. Julians is really good as well, great eclectic food with a neat if not overly hipster vibe but they also always have a pretty solid beer lineup.
Maybe it's the southern accent but I'm not really sure what you're asking for...are you looking for shops IN RI as well or just outside the state ? If you're new to the area, Nikki's in North Providence is probably your best bet. As far as "dank food" goes, I don't know of any place that serves food that smells or tastes like weed but you might want to try a NY System Weiner or some clamcakes and chowdah...
Where in rhode island specifically will you be? The things to look for change a lot depending on the area of the state you'll be in.
LOL love it The the OP - Nikki's in RI and Yankee Spirits just over the line in MA should serve you fine for shops (you may see Yankee has a few things that Nikki's won't because of the difference in distro between the 2 states). As for your question about Boston... let me be frank about something...there is no "good cheap" beer in Boston, let alone "cheap, cheap" beer. As for where to go, there are many previous threads listing places to go - check'em out. The problem is you'll pay a pretty penny for the beers at all the top places. Do you know whereabouts in the city you will primarily be? Are you doing touristy stuff downtown or something?
Campus Fine Wine and Liquor on the east side has a pretty solid selection and prices. I will 2nd Nikki's and Kingston Liquor.
