Going to be in the Greensboro area this weekend and am bringing my bike - if anyone who rides that lives in the area (or is visiting and also brought a bike) feels like a 3-4 hour ride early Saturday or Sunday morning, let me know.

    Cheers

This place seems ideal for MTB. But just a road bike unfortunately

Same here, brining my bike. Any suggestions for the Greensboro area would be wicked helpful.

Nothing that adventurous. The infamous HF hangover meant I got up a little later than I'd hoped and I only had time for 40 miles. Was staying up near shadow lake, so rode on shadow lake road down to 16 and went south. Stayed on that for around 8 or 9 miles then went right at the cross roads towards Greensboro. Then went left past Wiley's and headed towards Hardwick. Turned back once I'd clocked 20 miles and went the same route home. Was still awesome though.

We took a drive after Parker Pie towards Willoughby lake. Looked like there would be some awesome riding round there.

The roads around Willoughby and to the north and east are fantastic, mostly low traffic and in good condition, big rolling hills but no actual mountains. Remember that we have a 4-5 month cycling season here unless you're a real hardcore nutcase, equipped for the wind chill, in which case you might stretch it to 7 months in a good year. I think a HF 750ml growler will fit in your bottle cage...

Nice man - will definitely give that area a try next time. I'm good down to about 25F, which means I can pretty much do year round in NYC (miss the odd weekend), but yeah must be a totally different story in VT haha
