Crazy is how the owners are such a big fan of Cellarmaker/Russian River/Beachwood etc and now they're pouring with them at festivals and wouldn't be surprised if collab'ing down the road.

A bit of hearsay here but Riip may have been looking to expand and has decided not to or is rethinking it.

Seems Beachwood and Gunwhale might be having some difficulties that may be influencing Riip's decision making.

If true, it's smart of them to not over extend.

Hopefully they just take over 4sons location haha.

But honestly good portion of what makes Riip special is that damn location, unless they did a brewpub (which even then can have a whole mess of issues) I don't see the point personally.

I would like to see them take over the 4 Boys location. Maybe it could be like Beachwoods HB location used as a production brewery and small tasting room inside. It would be nice to see some regular cans coming from these guys. Maybe drop the $$ a little bit?

4 Sons going out of business? I don't understand how they're still around. They literally sold us as infected (or just plain horrible?) beer a while back that tasted and smelled like the inside of a dumpster smells and tried to pass it off as a "really good beer" that was "meant to taste that way." Have not been back since.

4 Sons is a perfect example of a hyper local brewery that exists because there are enough folks within an x mile radius that want a local watering hole. The quality of the beer is not important. Hell, the locals like them so much 4 Sons even packages their beer for the local market.

    Just wishful thinking is all.

I think they also randomly distribute to odd states, like Arizona and Tennessee.

I don't think 4 sons is even struggling though despite being inferior to Beachwood and RIIP. They seem to have a good amount of loyal locals and get lots of people buying their beers solely based off their various product references (Dirty Heads collab/ Kings themed beers etc.) They also landed that Taco Bell Cantina deal. So while their beer may not be the favorite of among Beer Enthusiasts, they're somehow doing something right on the business end.

Exactly. This is a perfect example of the local hometown crowd that keeps going to their local brewery (like many others in OC/LA area) because they don't care to go out and explore other establishments. I'm a local HB "kid" and I don't go to 4 Boys and a Dad Brewery. I prefer my other local spots, Beachwood HB/SB & RiiP. I think I stopped in 4 Boys-n-Dad 3 times after they first opened. All 3 times I never felt like I was welcomed. The beer that is.

I still have no idea on God’s green Earth how they pulled that one off...
