Rip Current Brewing Company's Bourbon Barrel-Aged Black Lagoon 22oz Bottle Sale
We are excited to release our first ever Bourbon Barrel-aged beer via Brown Paper Tickets! We wanted our first release to be truly special, so we are selling 1000, 22oz bottles via on-line pre-sales. Please be sure that your order complies with the Policies, Terms & Conditions before making a purchase!

Bourbon Barrel-aged Black Lagoon is the first release from our "Bourbon Barrel Series" of beers. Black Lagoon is a Scottish Strong style (AKA Wee Heavy Scotch Style Ale) that received the Silver medal at GABF 2015! We aged Black Lagoon in Heaven Hill Distilleries' Bourbon Barrels for 16 months to obtain a rich, complex wood and bourbon character that melds nicely with the sweetness of the Wee Heavy. Despite its ABV (11.5%), this beer is smooth and easy drinking so enjoy with care.

Starting Monday, October 26th at 11:00am PDT, you will be able to purchase up to three (3) bottles of Bourbon Barrel-aged Black Lagoon. Please note that you will need to use your name to purchase each bottle, and your name will be registered once you place your order. We want to make this as fair as possible, so any duplicate sales to the same name will be voided! Your name will be checked at bottle pick-up and must match your drivers license or other form of legal government issued identification.

How are their barrel-aged beers on tap? Because their IPAs are the best in the area & I'm wondering if I need to try to get my hands on a bottle of this!

$23.00 ($24.80 w/service fee) is a bit high unless you're sure this is GREAT or right up your alley?

At least you got about 6-7 weeks for pickup - Reasonable

Bottles can be picked up starting Wednesday, November 11th at the Rip Current Brewing Tasting Room in San Marcos ONLY. Bottles can be retrieved during tasting room hours from Wednesday, November 11th through Thursday, December 31st 2015.

This is their first barrel aged beer release. Hopefully they'll put it on tap for us to try so we can hold onto our bottles for awhile before opening.

Rip Current makes great examples of all kinds of styles. Just most of you overlook them for their hoppy beers and Kona/Vanilla Storm.

If I were local I wouldn't have overlooked anything in that taproom!

It will be on tap at some point (probably not a lot of it though) with some held back for special events.

I was told by one of the guys there, that more than likely it will be on draft the first day of pickup.

While this doesn't really fit under the BBA Series.... Double Lupulin Lust is great. Hopefully it becomes a regular beer of theirs.

Stopped by today and the BA Black Lagoon was on tap and still for sale in bottles. I enjoyed it. I agree. That Double Lupulin is great too.

Do they have these bottles for sale at the North Park Tasting Room?
And is there a current tap list for that location? Can only find the San Marcos one. Thanks

    Yes.

No, there's not a consistently updated online taplist for the North Park location, but 1) there will always be a wealth of good beer on and 2) even if there isn't, Toronado is half a block away.

great. thx. I didn't see anything about growler fills, so I'm assuming they don't do those?

As is Belching Beaver's tap room, and Tiger!Tiger! is just a block away from that.

They do growler fills, only in stainless steel blanks or Rip Current stainless steel growlers. Both 1L and 2L.

Well...I'm ISO of a bottle of this and can bring some local hops or BA stuff to swap in 2.5 weeks if anyone is near this place. I'll start a thread in the IP trading forum...but was just getting this out. Thanks
(assuming it will be gone in a couple of weeks)
