Never had a chance to try this one, I'm sure FW will come up with something brilliant to take it's place.

A better beer than Sucaba. "The wrong kid died," as they say.

    Earlier thread.

This one just sits and sits here in MD. Parabola, Stickee Monkee, Velvet Merkin and Sucaba (not sure if we even got some this year). SM and VM were brand new this time around, so we will see how they fare next time around.

Well, unless they come out with something new, it will most likely be replaced by either: Helldorado, Good Foot or Bravo.

I doubt it will be Parabajava or Winter Wookey, since these are just variations on existing beers. There is also Rufus (part of the XI blend) and Saucerful 'O Secrets (blend in 12 and 13). It could also be PNC (super-limited release, part of the XVI blend and probably just a one-off).

It doesn't matter what they put out, because anything they deem worthy enough for a cardboard box is great stuff.

p.s. If you want the links, look in the other thread.

I'm betting Helldorado or Bravo but it I am begging for it to be Parabajava.

I have to give Sucaba another shot some time because I really didn't like it at all, which is surprising to me to say the least! I really did enjoy Double DBA though. I know it was the easiest to find here, a poorer seller, so I guess the choice was obvious for FSW.

Does this stuff taste like BCBBW at all, cuz if so, I'll try to seek out a bottle. Only Proprietor's Vintage Series I've had is Sucaba, and while great, it didn't blow me away like BCBBW did.

Not really. Doesn't have the stout character, also has too much whiskey.

Parabola is fairly similar to Bourbon County Stout, however.

I had this once it was really sweet, going to try it again now that it's discontinued. A few shops in my area still have some bottles but Parabola and Sucaba went fast.

The least impressive BA beer of their lineup. Good ridence...can't wait to see what will be replacing it!! This is a good thing IMHO.

Well, this is just a damn shame......All of their barrel aged beers are classic, but this along with Velvet Merkin are my favorite......

On the other hand I'm on the edge of my seat waiting to see what they throw into this legendary series next, so its not all bad

Got 4 "2013" bottles staring at me right now. PM me if you or any of you gentlemen would like to trade  .. I vote for Parabajava to replace this. But as stated, I think we could have done without Sucaba. Sounds like something for change.org

I'm so glad I was able to get a bottle before they stop brewing.

Worst of the series IMO, but still delicious. It is cloying fresh but develops into an amazing beer after 6-9 months. I've got a 2013 and will be sure to snag a couple 2014. Can't wait to see what the replacement is!

I liked DDBA in the past but I'm pretty much done with Firestone at this point. Happy hunting fellas

Loved this beer, just as much as Sucaba. Sad to see it go

So I did open that 2012 DDBA bottle after all. It was predictably excellent and still had some alcohol heat to it after two years! I have one bottle of 2012 left; not sure how much longer I will hang on to it. A year or two?

Double DBA lacked the FW's signature barrel-aging characters. Not much coconut/vanilla like aroma and taste.
