Bummer, they should do a special version of his namesake to honor his passing.

Sad indeed. Another mascot of sorts was Pako the dog, 1994-2009, from Snake River, though he passed before the cans came out.

OH man, that's a bummer. My friends always would talk about him when we were drinking Brooklyn beers. Bummer, I never got to meet him. I am sure he was the envy of all the other cats.

Raising a glass to Monster and the good folks at Brooklyn that gave him such a cool home.

As an animal lover, I mourn the death of a beloved cat. As a beer ow, my condolences to the Brooklyn Brewery. Hope he gets a tribute edition of his namesake.

That sucks. I noticed him lying on top of a pallet of barley when I took the brewery tour a couple of months ago - gave the place a lot of character.

Very sad news. I love animals and this has got to be a real bummer for the employees. I'm sure he brightened many a day as he made his rounds. Truly some of the greatest companions that we humans will ever have. I raise a glass honor.

I drank half a Monster Ale tonight, and poured out the other half in honor. RIP

I have fond memories of Brooklyn Brewery and even fonder memories of Monster. As Etan said, he really gave the place a lot of character - I'll miss him on my next East Coast trip!

Hmm i never knew Monster was a cat. Interestingly I call one of my cats Monster as a nickname and took her photo next to a bottle of Brooklyn Monster. I'll have to dig it up.

I will miss the little guy, I'm more of a dog guy personally, but Monster was a staple of visits over at the brewery. RIP

Sad loss, may Brooklyn Brewing commemorate his legacy with a superb new ale release. Fitting for their best mascot.

That sucks. When I visited there in November, my friend thought it was the coolest thing that there was a cat just putzing around the place while people were hanging out and drinking. I wouldn't have even noticed myself, as he mostly stayed out of people's way. I am also a fan of his namesake barleywine and will probably grab up a 4 pack next time I'm at the store.

Maybe they could collaborate with Rogue to find some wild yeast from the litter box and brew something up in honor of him.
