A sober reminder that tomorrow is never promised, just be nice to others. Oh and no pun intended there.

How terribly tragic. I never met Matthew but I could definitely tell by his amazingly thoughtful and heartfelt beer reviews that he must have been a great guy. Ironically, I was reading reading one of his reviews a few days before hearing the sad news (check out his review of Very Gggreennn) and was thinking the very same thing. RIP brother.

What a bummer. He helped me land one of the only beers I've actually cared to trade for the last few years. RIP man, and thank you one more time.

My condolences to his friends and family... RIP to a very classy BA.

While I never personally met rudzud (Matthew) and did not have any personal connection to him, I'm going to say that I will miss all of the updates that he submitted to correct or complete information about beers - it seems like I have come to expect those daily updates over my years of being a Moderator / Site Editor).

One of the best traders out there and a really great guy. Even though I only knew him through trades and the occasional text, I will miss him. RIP

Sorry to hear that the community lost a member too soon. Like many, I have enjoyed his reviews. Thoughts for his family during such a tough time.

Sad to see this. No interaction with him, that I remember, but did appreciate his reviews.
Thanks for letting us know, Todd.

Wow! RIP Matt. We did a few trades over the years. A true BA. The type of guy I used the trade system with once and never even worried about it after. Always very friendly, communicative, and generous. Super sad to hear this news.

This is a kick in the chest. I didn't know Matthew personally, but I always enjoyed his reviews, often in tandem with his buddy @jlindros - both very eloquent reviewers. I always admired his ability to land pretty much anything he wanted, and check off so many of his biggest beer wants. 35 is so young. 35 is too young. My heart goes out to his loved ones and friends, and I hope they can eventually make peace with such a tragic loss. I will surely open a fine bottle in his memory.

    Cheers, @rudzud. Be at peace.

It is the overwhelming generosity and kindness displayed by @rudzud that makes the beer community. Like others, I definitely utilized his reviews a lot when I joined the site. I had the pleasure of finally getting to know him during my time at Julio's Liquors and I can't emphasize enough how generous he was in the short time I interacted with him. It wasn't hard to tell that he was beyond a goodwill ambassador for beer; he genuinely enjoyed sharing amazing beverages with people. Eliciting a joyous response from others utilizing beer, wine, mead and spirits always seemed to be his mission.

RIP @rudzud , you will be missed by many.
