despite the lack of variety in style, it does seem like it could be the best SN Variety pack in recent memory. No duds.

My Mom's family came from Germany and Alamance County, N.C. to settle in then Indian Territory in the now Alabama. Marengo County and Von Poelnitz. It is a vivid American tale dating to the 1700s and long before. My Mom's uncle was the editor of the Mobile newspaper who penned a gorgeous family history that goes back centuries and includes two really interesting Confederate doctors trained at UVA memorialized on The Rotunda. It is all so riveting......

I saw Narwhal today. I didn't pick it up but I did look at the SN website to confirm that it is newly released, not that that matters all that much. 6 of those big boys kinda intimidates me, but I can always ration them over the course of the winter so I will go back.

Sierra Nevada distributed a mix pack to club stores this year with Summerfest. I found it at Costco today. Also includes pale ale, torpedo, and sunny little thing.

Emailing the brother with the Costco membership now!

Then again, the locals with a sudden influx of Trumer Pils are fitting the bill just fine for me so, maybe not.

    Sorry SN, snoozin' and losin'.

I actually liked Summerfest much better. I'm a traditional guy and Nooner didn't hit me that way.

You and your damn Trumer. I had to buy it online in the past and despite the overall price, I enjoyed the hell out of it. Have you ever had the original from Austria?

Sorry, but yeah. My ongoing favorite go-to.
    Wow. Pricey shipping?
    Not yet. Maybe some day.

I know it's asking a lot for Casper, but do you see Bell's beers? Their Lager of the Lakes is a close runner-up.

We get some Bell's. I drank Lager of the Lakes on draught but I have never seen it packaged.

Annoying that Summerfest is being brewed but not distributed. Shipped only.

Bud, Miller, etc. clearly have excellent quality control across all lines of their beers. Taste is consistent, even if it is not the taste most BAs are searching for. If Bud, Miller et. al. did not maintain consistent flavor and appearance, they would quickly lose sales. I'm sure no one in the brewing industry will ever forget the example of Schlitz.

Well, it would be beneficial for brewing industry folks be aware of brewing history but I wonder how many of the younger folks who are now craft brewing are aware here.

Coincidentally just last Monday I posted the below in an other thread:

"Hopefully these brewery owners learned some brewing history so they won’t make the same mistakes as Schlitz:

    “The Downfall of a brewery

In the late 50s, Anheuser-Busch pulled ahead in the competition, and Schlitz, now managed by the Uihlein family who was related to the brewery's original founder August Krug, made a series of decisions that would lead to the gradual downfall of the Schlitz brewery.

First, the brewery cut costs by starting to swap in cheaper ingredients including corn syrup for malted barley and hop pellets for fresh hops. The hope was that if they did it slow enough, drinkers wouldn't notice.”

    https://www.wideopeneats.com/whatever-happened-to-schlitz-beer/

If enough customers perceive a ‘cheapening’ aspect to the beer that news will spread and that could have dire consequences for the brewery."

    Cheers!

I thought Nooner was a bit hit and miss. Around the time Nooner was around they released a lovely Kolsch in one of their summer packs. I thought at the time that making Summerfest year round instead of Nooner and making the Kolsch their summer seasonal would have been great.

I was hoping Nooner would have been closer to Summerfest to have a great, year-round Pils. Instead we got a lagered APA.
