I went to a bar in Pittsburg that had a few Octoberfest beers on tap. I had never tried River town before and I can't get it at home so I went for it. It tasted nothing like an Octoberfest. It was way closer to an APA. Huge difference I know but there were no Octoberfest characteristics at all. Is this what they were going for or was the keg mislabeled, wrong tap, etc. Just wondering if anyone has tried it please chime in. Thanks!

Same here. Was really not a fan. Absolutely no Oktoberfest characteristics.

Are you talking Rivertown (Cincinnati, OH) or Rivertowne (PA)? Unless they have completely changed the recipe (which I can assure they did not, out i would have heard about it), the Cincinnati Rivertown is most definitely an Oktoberfest and nothing like a pale ale.

I was referring to Rivertowne. Was on draft at Jungle in Fairfield a couple weeks back. Hate to to say it, but was really not a fan.

    Rivertown (Cincinnati) is pretty decent.
