Are any of the more recent beers worth giving a try? Seems like they are adding some new beers to their lineup, any of them noteworthy?

Funny you ask, because they've been available in NY, and they are just one of those brands that I never consider.

well I had a variety pack recently and enjoyed them all ..I just remember they all had a heavy, full bodied appeal ...I'd glad you mentioned this brand I will add it to my shopping list. I had the Amber, the IPA and the Lager I believe.

I bought a mixed 12 a couple years ago. They were all gushers ad a complete waste of money. I contacted the brewery and never heard back. No more Riverhorse.

The milk stout is quite enjoyable, as is the variant in whiskey barrels ..as long as youre not expecting an imperial stout. The rest of the lineup has been pedestrian IMO

Things have changed in the past few years, so you might want to reconsider…especially the milk stout that @jkane101 mentions.
I think some of the others in their standard rotation are drinkable, even if "pedestrian". The IPA is a middle of the road IPA, but the seasonals are where it's at. Haven't had any of the limited bottle releases.

I've had a handful of their beers and the only one that I found worthwhile is the Chocolate Porter. Their regular lineup isn't necessarily bad, just nothing special. But that's just my taste buds.

I live in the middle of River Horse country and their brews are extremely underwhelming... They have a beautiful facility and produce low level brews. I have never had a IPA with no hop taste until I bought RH 6 pack.
I will say their summer blond is the best they produce but that isn't saying much.
I am happy to take the trip to Carton, Kane, forgotten boardwalk and now demented brewing.
Of course this is my opinion and I just wish they would step it up they have everything to do that besides solid recipes
All just my 2c ... Sorry for the rant

I have never seen any of their seasonals here. To be honest there are way too many local brewers that are putting out consistently good beer to take a chance. This is especially true with the comments here that are not glowing. A cautionary tale to new brewers. You only have 1 chance for a first impression. In today's market that is likely your only chance to gain a customer. Had they just not ignored me and just apologized I would have given them a second chance.

In a word diacetyl. It was a problem at the old place, and I tried the Summer Blonde a couple weeks ago to see if the move cured it. It"s worse.

I was at a local beer bar a few years ago and they were having an event for Riverhorse. One of the Riverhorse beers reeked of diacetyl. I mentioned this issue to the bartender and he waved over the Riverhorse sales rep. I spoke to the Sales Rep about this issue. He really did not want to talk to me and stated: The brewer will be here in an hour, take it up with him. He the turned around and walked away from me. I talked to the back of this guys head and stated: you can take it up with the brewer, I am leaving.

I have not had a Riverhorse beer since.

As @bluehende mentioned, there is plenty of high quality craft beer out there; I will drink those beers instead.

    Cheers!

Thanks to all for their opinions. I see that they continue to roll out more of the Brewers Reserve or whatever they call them. The first couple were not that great so interested if the Cranberry Sour and others had shown marked improvement to make me want to reconsider. I must say that the staff up there has not been that great and it sounds like others have had the same reaction when dealing with them. I was a fan certainly of the Milk Stout but others I have found to be lacking. But I must say that I did think their pumpkin beer was good in its class. Personally, for their location, I much prefer Vault as an alternative. But thanks to all for the responses.

Riverhorse has a great brewery tour! Pit stops for beer along the tour while you listen....sign me up.

I like their Belgian triple....that's about it though.
