Has anyone tried their beers? Their mild was on cask at Redbones this weekend, but some of the reviews about their bitter (particularly on cask) aren't very flattering.

I visited the brewery last summer after stopping into Newburyport Brewing and enjoyed both of them. NBPT is more of a taproom where you can have a pint, and Riverwalk was more of a tasting room/brewery tour. They are mostly in the north shore, but were trying to get into Boston/Cambridge/Somerville.

The beers were not out of this world, but not terrible, I did not try the ESB. I think ESB is a hard style to review, because the small # of examples of the style in the states. I did not review the beers because they were small samples.

Hi, Steve from Riverwalk here. A little late to this thread but wanted to chime in and say thanks for the interest. The mild that was at Redbones was a one-off beer that was only distributed to Redbones and one other restaurant. We really wanted to brew this style, at 3.6% ABV, as it is a rarity in this part of the world. I didn't get a chance to try the cask version, unfortunately, but we have had great feedback at the brewery.

As for the previous reviews of our cask beer, and Uncle Bob's specifically, I can only tell you that we have had good feedback from some of the locations we have served casks like Lord Hobo, Foundry, and most recently NERAX. Cask beer can be fickle, especially for a beer like Uncle Bob's which is a bit delicate. Feel free to visit us at the brewery in Newburyport or shoot me a message to find out more about what we are up to.

    Cheers!
