RO/Distilled Refill stations

    If the flow is slow it will take out chlorine compounds. It also removes organic compound and heavy metals. No affect on the brewing ions.

    One should be aware that RO systems remove about 98 or 99 % of the TDS going in. If the feed water has low TDS and the system is well maintained you can get low TDS RO water. I can buy from a Primo machine that has feed water from Lake Huron, my TDS Meter says 3 ppm. I also buy cheaper RO water from a place in a town on wells with high TDS, unknown maintainance schedules and that is 45 TDS - but about half price. I use the former for lagers, the later for ales.

    Chlorine/chloramine if run slowly, and any sediment/particulate.

    That was my plan too. Unfortunately, I picked the wrong filling stations.

    My TDS meter was $15.

    I think its a good thing to have to monitor the state of the water and machine maintenance, plus its only $20.

    Around here Hanafords has the RO machines.
