I'm heading to Bentonville next week from Grand Rapids. The plan is to go through Louisville, Nashville and Memphis on the way down then back through St. Louis. Likely spending the night in Bowling Green and Memphis on the way. Looking for recommendations on places to hit for beer and food along the route. If anyone has suggestions on places a 5 year old would dig (museums, parks, etc) that would be great too. We are planning Mammoth Cave but that is it for the way down. Thanks in advance. Joe
Louisville -- Holy Grale is out if you have a kid. Try Monnik instead. Nashville -- Bearded Iris or Southern Grist for beer. NWA -- Ozark Beer Co. If you want a killer BA beer, go to the Arkansas thread in this region and try to set up an IP trade for BDCS. Thank me later. Go hiking at Devil's Den or visit Crystal Bridges (I think you need tickets in advance, check). A tried and true adventure is to ride up the Gateway Arch in St Louis, though it's not for claustrophobic people. Plus, Side Project.
If your trip is soon, they may have BDCS on tap still. Bike Rack has a new head brewer who has made some tasty brews in the past.
Yeah, growlers of BDCS haven't happened before, except for the Un Ano. I'm fairly certain that it would be pours only.
