Came here to say the same thing. Great hiking in that area as well (as you likely know). Sounds like a fantastic trip.

They've been doing a real good job and i think are about 9-10 years old now. Underrated gem for sure. Now if only they had milk stout on whenever I come home. *grumbles loudly*

One that flies under the radar as it's a bit out the way is Rek-Lis in Bethlehem NH.

If Schilling is already on the docket, this is about a ten minute drive. Bethlehem is beautiful to boot.

If my wife and friend aren’t able to swing by, i will put it on my list for when it’s my turn for a road trip get-away. Cheers!

I saw that place doing searches of the area. Thanks!

Hill Farmstead is kind of on the way from Stowe to Danville. Your wife would save time by making that detour. Have her save the route on her phone before leaving; cell reception is not reliable around H-F.

If your wife is really into hiking and intends to do a lot, she might think about buying approach shoes. There are fantastic, quite rocky trails around Stowe & Franconia. Same is true of Blue Hills Reservation if she's interested in hiking near Boston.

Oh, man, I want to like Navigation - I mean, I guess, I do like them but not to the point you skip TreeHouse. Very cool artist lofts at the Navigation, Lowell location, though. Let's assume you want to skip TH, though...

I'll propose a Spyglass (Nashua) & Tomahawk Tavern (Merrimack) run? Spyglass puts out the best* beer in Southern NH and, if you are brave enough to ignore the exterior, Tomahawk is punching way, way over it's own weight in terms of lunch & dinner.

*maybe. I change my mind on this a lot.

Thanks. I’m still pushing for Hill. It may not fit their schedule. She is a fairly experienced hiker and can’t wait to hike in New Hampshire. It’s a state she has yet to visit.

Thanks. I’ll check those out to see if she can fit in another NH stop. Cheers!

If your wife really is an avid hiker I strongly recommend the Presidential Range in New Hampshire. The Franconia Range right where she'll be staying is good too, but not quite the same.

Well, my wife picked a great time to visit Vermont!

She was on the road yesterday when they had the terrible downpour and tornado warnings. She says she has never been so scared in all her life. The rain was coming down in sheets, cars were getting flooded, large branches coming down. It all ended fine thankfully and she had a great meal at the hotel.

They went on a light hike near Stowe this morning. They hit Von Trapp for me today (grabbed a pack of smoked Helles which I’m thrilled about, among other things) and The Alchemist for some classics and Skadoosh hopped with Nelson and Wakatu which is right up my alley. I think Red Barn is next when they head down to Danville. She is a little concerned about the affect the weather might have had on the roads to HF, so I told her not to bother.

The rain was quite intense yesterday afternoon. We got over 1.5 inches at my house in about an hour along with high wind. Had a similar storm this past wednesday that was worse with big hail...lightening hit very close to my house (everything is fine now). I'm sure the roads will be fine getting to HF on wednesday when they open next, but I understand your concern.

The rest of yesterday went off well. They were able to make another hike to Smugglers Notch and had a great dinner at American Flatbread. My wife teased me with a photo of her beer choice with dinner. I’m hoping to get a positive update today, including a stop in at Schilling for me. Cheers!

Just wanted to say thanks for putting Reklis on my radar. Had an excellent dinner there last week.
