Heading up to Amherst for the cw anniversary party Saturday from Chicago. Looking for ideas on some spots for the best food and drinks on my way up. I've been to the Great Dane in Madison and also heard of vintage brewing as an idea. What else is out there? Thanks!
Guus in Stevens point has pretty good food, plus one of the shuttles to CW leaves from there. Win/win. If you want to stop in Madison, I'm a big fan of Tipsy Cow. Awesome burgers and cheese curds plus a solid tap list. It's pretty close to the great Dane, right off the square.
Karben4 is probably on the way for you if you're going through Mad town. Of course great beer, but I also love their food.
Best food hands down is Arbuckle's! They have a decent beer selection too. Also just down the street from Guu's if you're trying to catch the shuttle from downtown.
