I don't post often but I do lurk, and I want to say thanks to everyone who sung the praises of RTB Vienna. What a fantastic beer. I've been drinking more and more lagers/pilsners lately and that beer just hit all the right notes for me. Brought a couple 4-packs with me last week when I was on vacation in the UP and can't wait to get more. Just need to find some that are fresher, if they exist, as all the cans I had were canned on 5/24.

I don't know how much they brewed, it's not a continuously available label from them (yet).

That said, I've seen a lot available at the Gurnee Binny's, if you're anywhere in the vicinity.

I may just buy more of the Vienna with their Festbier since I'm never really satisfied with many of the Ami-Oktos.

Yeah any cans of Vienna out there are all going to be the same date code of 5/24 - hasn't been a more recent run than that. Lagers at ~3 months though should still be in their prime :+1:

I grabbed mine from Algonquin Binnys last week. I was planning on getting another when I grab Coconut Deth if it's still available this week.

I had one last week that was still drinking phenomenally.

Cracked the Fest Bier this week...really good stuff. I worry that it's very early arrival didn't do it any favors as far as the experience; I think with the smell of fall leaves, mildly lower temps and the sun going down a bit earlier I'd enjoy this more.

That said: good beer is good beer. And this is really good beer. Might grab a 4 pack & stash it in the fridge until autumn.

Local Binnys was out of Vienna. Went in for All American Burger and got some finally. Drinking it now and certainly worth the grab. Had to go ahead and get a Festbier 4-pack as well. Might just wait until those leaves start to change before I crack one... but probably not!

Fully agree. Good beer is good beer but festbiers are designed for cooler weather and football (in my mind anyway!). I think @dbelford mentioned more batches of the Festbier might be forthcoming but no idea if he just made this up . Would be good to confirm if someone might be at the brewery any time soon. Someone has an assignment!

Well, to be accurate -- Fest beers were designed for Fests and you can find them at different small festivals across Germany most of the year.

Now Amber Märzen -- that I really equate to autumn festivals and cooler weather, but I've already bought one myself.

And I also grabbed another 4-pack each of the RT Fest and Vienna (sorry @Jagrmaister -- big stash in Gurnee).

I wouldn't say that I made it up, I just have a hunch - and no, not a :wink: hunch.

Fest was a pretty big mover for them last year, and they've done 2 batches of All- American Burger already this summer, so I just have a good feeling about it. I can't imagine a late July run will be the only Fest they make this year. I'd be surpirsed if it is.

Accuracy, smaccuracy. But fair point. With apologies to the Talking Heads, there's a fest in my mind, and I hope it never stops.

Thanks. I work in Gurnee and go into the office on Mondays so I hope they still have some on Monday.

Picked up a 4 pack of Fest Bier earlier and looking forward to having one a bit later.

Based on what I saw yesterday, it shouldn't be a problem.

Look for it on the shelf with the other RT beers, but also in the stacks to the far left of the shelves. East, if you're using GPS.

I haven’t had a chance to visit but have tried a few beers I picked up at Binny’s. The Vienna Lager and Burger IPA were both very good, more my style than what is being churned out at other “hot” breweries that are discussed on these forums regularly. Will continue to try new ones as they show up

I’m sweating outside while I do chores, and “just add baguette” is the perfect beer for the moment. Cheers!

Okay, haven't seen any mention of Just Down the Road here or in the P3 thread.

Anyone? I always wondered, with all of RT's collabs, why not Phase 3? JDR answers my question.

Not a style I'd jump to, but no surprise in this particular collaboration.

Alrighty, I got some updated info -- this will be the only batch of Festbier. I'll try and leave some for the rest of ya...
