Can we just have non-adjuncted barrel aged stouts? :stuck_out_tongue:

    Adjunct = fermentable.

Additive = crap tossed in to cover the mistakes.

Tuba Tuba has officially made it into my IPA of 2022 category. I think cutting out the citra and el dorado from Tuba Solo and substituting it with the nectaron and strata really elevated the double version. Doubling up on the 4pks before I walk across the street to the P3 Bushels of Apples fest.

    Damn this is tasty…

Copped 2 bottles of Observer & Observed (the double barrel aged, non-sweetened stout) today...just cracked it.

I regret not buying about 3 more.

    Fawkes on Fawkes, Part ?
(The latest installment of GuyFawkes interviewing himself while "solo doming" large format, high abv beers)

Q: Hey, heard you picked up the new barrel aged stout from Roaring Table. No sweet stuff, just like you want! I bet you can't wait to try it.
    A: (grunts, avoids eye contact)

Q: (sees an open bottle of Observer & Observed on the table) Oh, uh...do you have some friends over? I didn't hear anyone come in.
A: (grunts a bit louder, avoids eye contact)

Q: (sighing) ...Listen, I didn't love you taking down the Revolution crowlers, but that was during the height of the pandemic. I understood, you couldn't really hang out with others, and you didn't want to miss out on these very special beers. But now? You could easily wait & share this one. What's the deal, man? You OK?
A: (glowers directly at the questioner, and no grunts this time, only silence)

Q: (unsettled) So, uh, how is it?
A: (immediately brightens) Oh it's pretty great! Milk chocolate & banana notes in the nose; banana & brownie batter on the palate. Barrel and bourbon shine both ways. Silky, luxurious mouthfeel makes this a pleasure to drink. Highly recommended!!

Q: Nice! Say, Sunday night is a work night, no?
    A: (grunts, avoids eye contact)

Any reports of Observer and Observed still for sale at RT?

Or for that matter somewhere out in the wild?

Wanting to grab one bottle & narrowly missed it at Beer on the Wall...

Went last night and had a few pours. Thatch Whistler on cask was great. Win a Boat was also really nice but Observer and Observed was a stand out. Such a well done barrel aged stout. Not motor oil thickness but close. Thought it was a liquid brownie with a perfect barrel presence. Bought two bottles and want to go back to get a few more

Finished my evening with Quiz Night on cask at the Beer Temple...that's damn near a perfect beer.

I'm not going to lie, I like most beer, but some mixed ferm beers and pub ales (after having a few warm, flat beers in UK) aren't my thing. Nonetheless, I got talking to one of the servers at RT and they gave me a sample of Quiz Night on cask, which really impressed. It's almost like a light brown ale and a smooth marzen blended into one? Idk if that makes any sense.

I haven't had the chance to try this one yet, but if it's anything like the Ordinary Bitters I enjoyed in England (and I have a lot of trust in Lane's brewing skills), I know I'm gonna love it.

Has anyone seen this "Progressive" (I think that's what they're calling it) 4-pack of a Light Ale RT has out?

Cans are minimally designed with large numerals 1-2-3-4 on them. Made me think you're supposed to drink them in order, but they all have the same ABV. Maybe they're hopped differently?

I believe they are literally the same beer, but there so seasonable you'll probably drink them all in 1 setting.

It's a new series, I think, and there will be recipe variations...just not in the same 4 pack.
