    New Can Release Alert
    • Accordance (Dark Czech Lager - 4.6% ABV) Floor-malted Bohemian pilsner supports caramel and roasted malts in this rich and spry dark lager. Expect impressions of cocoa powder, toffee, and cookie dough on a crisp and snappy body.
    • Fine (Oat Lager - 5% ABV) Malted, flaked, and toasted oats add a creamy, grainy heft to this easygoing lager. Impressions of sweet malt up front quickly transition into a dry and crispy herbal finish.
    • Engine (Oak Conditioned Rye Pale Ale - 5.4% ABV) Malted and crystal rye add heft and spice to this hearty beer. Toasted oak brings warming vanillin, a hint of cinnamon, and elegant structure.
    • Shimmercut (California-style IPA - 6.4% ABV) Hopped with Apollo, Mosaic, Citra, and Enigma.

I recently heard @ChicagoJ call this style "the most truly European beers in Chicago, and I respect them all greatly."

    Right, J? :sunglasses:

I do respect all dark lagers equally. See face on the left for further details.

I do agree there should be more than two styles of beer (Ale vs. Lager), but don’t believe each country on the planet should have their own sub style. BA has three Czech only sub styles, no written descriptions because they are the same as the other Pale Lagers, Dark Lagers and Amber Ales not brewed in the Czech Republic.

There's also a "Concordance" Czech Light Lager* -- but maybe draft only?

Plans to pay an RT visit next week -- will report back.

*I guess they're calling it a Czech-sryle Pilsner -- six of one...

It's in cans and it showed up at the local bottle shop last week. Picking up a couple cans this week.

Must have been in last week's announcement, I only saw it on their beer list -- eyes open on my next trip -- to Binny's or the brewery proper.

I posted my review elsewhere, but I really enjoyed the "West Coast" Pilsner collaboration Far Out Cool Pool between Roaring Table and Hop Butcher enjoyed on draft at HB.

Also enjoyed their Blonde Ale in the Sequential series. Have singles of their Extra Pale Ale (Deluxe Home Beverage) and RTB Pils (I believe this is an ongoing release from RT) in the fridge to try for the first time soon. Their lower ABV releases are all packed with strong and enjoyable flavor.

Wish Metra had a Lake Zurich train stop (for P3 as well), but grateful this gets shipped packaged (and at times on cask at The Beer Temple) in the city.

Can say with several beers under my belt, RT is my favorite Chicago suburban brewery. Penrose, Art History, Goldfinger and Phase Three are also solid options for my taste/style preferences.

It's getting hard to argue with you here...case in point, I bought 12 individual cans from Bottles & Cans today, and three of them were from Roaring Table. Besides two from Goldfinger, the rest were all one per brewery. Roaring Table just does so many styles so well.

Speaking of styles, I just enjoyed their oat lager, Fine, and entered it into the database. The best style match I found was "American Adjunct Lager"...did I make the right choice? Oats are absolutely an adjunct in the true sense of the brewing term, correct?

Open to ideas (and correction, if needed, on the site).

Id probably just drop it under American Lager. AAL is a certain type of adjuncted lager and it doesn't really fit in there.

Anyone gonna be in Lake Zurich tonight and want to geek-out about good beer?

Most underrated brewery in Chicagoland. Just sayin'. Fine Oat Lager is terrific.

Good. I was yapping a lot with my friend as I was drinking it, but noticed smooth and roasty characters.

Brought home a 4-pack, so a review will be coming soon.

The partner Pils was good too, as was the Bitter off cask.

To answer this question with a little more detail: roasted malt -- coffee notes -- and herbal hop nose; mellow roasted malt with lightly tart, dark fruit on the back of the palate, some very light bready sweetness balancing the roasty astringency and tart fruitiness -- there's a mellow cocoa character in the finish and aftertaste with warming; light-medium body with a smooth and soft mouthfeel.

Very reminiscent of a Schwarzbier. Outstanding complexity and drinkability at 4.6 ABV.

FWIW -- this was a review on-the-fly -- gonna focus more for my official.

I stand by my statement: RT is the most underrated brewery in Chicagoland -- and I haven't really focused on their IPAs!

*Edit -- Really? Accordance not in the database? Remedied.

Fine Oat Lager was great on tap at RT and didn't lose anything from canning. It's a great light lager with a touch of oat character that doesn't overwhelm. I can see this as a Bavarian Landbier in the old country.

The Mittelfruh hops are used perfectly and I'd swear this was brewed with the same yeast as the RT Festbier.

It's not crazy complex or in-your-face, just smooth and tasty and begs for another glass-full.

Let's get stoked!! Christmas week releases:
    - Warbler Vivant (Dark Pub Ale)
    - RTB Dunkel (was awesome last year and my first RT beer, ever!)
    - Concision (Double IPA)
    - Faster Now (NEIPA)

I dig what they're doing with "California IPA". It's all the hype on the west coast right now with Green Cheek's West Coast is Dead and a bunch of fruit-forward/modern hop WC IPAs from Highland Park and North Park. They're so good. Crisp, clean, but with modern hops.

Sure wish they'd dust off the Doppelbock recipe.

    Maybe a Maibock for Spring?
