    One time I stopped in they had another English ale on the beer engine... can't recall the name (maybe it was the TW?). It was good, but I'd already had a couple Pilsners, so I wasn't palate-focused to make an assessment.

    I gotta say, RT kill the classic styles. Dunkel is probably my favorite out of the easy drinkers, but I'm going to put out there that Tuba Solo got awarded as one of the best beers of the year by Beer & Brewing mag.

    I had it when they canned it and I can confirm, it's freaking awesome. Just wish they'd can it again as it's quite the trip to LZ.

    I have a local with a surplus of the Festbier that I've been helping them whittle down. Canned back in August, kept in their cooler, it's still drinking fine.

    You guys all act like I don't want the rest of this for myself! :grin:

    Okay, okay -- I shared with a couple others privately, so I'll make it public because I like supporting the store; Gold Eagle Liquors in Libertyville.

    It's up to you to find the beer in the store -- don't want to make it *too* easy.* :wink:

    They also have a lot of other Oktos in surplus because they took in orders right at the season's end -- and the customers have shown their enthusiasm because they're selling down.

    *If I go in there next week and the Fest is all sold out I'm not gonna be happy! Don't go crazy!

    I brought home some Pilsner from RT (the German, not the RT or Czech) last night. Hadn't tried it previously so popped one this afternoon.

    This one is right up there with a lot of the better German-style Pilsners being brewed these days (think Dovetail and Urban Chestnut). Great bready/crackery malt backbone with good forward, herbal to lightly citrus hops.

    Forgot to look at the canning date, because they're trying to clear out some stores, but I don't think they've brewed this one in a while -- hopefully they're planning to keep it in their rotation.
