Rockford Brewing Ain't Jemima

Foggy Porter by White Flame in Hudsonville is made with maple sap and vanilla beans, although I have no idea how the sap is used. I haven't tried it either, just saw it posted on their FB page.

I really need to get to Rockford Brewing. Haven't been yet.

 

Lawson's does this also.

 

Spike's Maple Ale from O'so is brewed with sap.

 

No Kidding..I might be there in a week or two..My buddy lives in Lowell and im going there and wanted to go to that brewery..

 

I had a maple sap beer once, but could hardly perceive the maple. Leave it to Seth, a fellow Yooper, to do this!

I saw Rockford BC's Instagram and instantly wanted to "visit the inlaws again" in Ada. I definitely need to try this.

 

Very eager to try this, I expect the white pine trail will be a little more clogged for this beer.

 

I hope to make it here on Wednesday. Really looking forward to this one.

 

Short's did this with a pub batch of Woodmaster a couple years ago

 

A couple of home brewers do it every year. Not much flavor from the maple water.

 

scratch brewing did one recently. try it tomorrow here in chicago at green lady.

 

Greenbush Doomslayer is brewed entirely with maple sap instead of water.

 

Just had this yesterday are really like it....Nice brewery as well...Cool place to go..Nice little town as well..Bought a growler to have at tasting tonight..

 

Had some last week, not a ton of maple character but a pretty good beer, wish I had gotten a growler.

 

What kind of style does it most closely represent? IPA??

I'm about 40 minutes from Rockford, I'm actually thinking I might take the trek out there just to check out this beer and the brewery. I have a friend who grew up in Rockford but never has heard of a brewery there(granted he is no BA).

 

IPA??? um no probably not, more like a barlywine maybe or old ale?
