Anything worth checking out in the rockford scene? I'm going there for business.

As far as bottle shops go, Artale Wine has a pretty good selection. They usually have the most recent Lost Abbey 375mL release long after Chicagoland is cleaned out. I go every time I'm out in The Screw visiting family. I always seem to find something there I can't find in Chicago. Also check out the Woodman's down the street from Artale.

As far as having a drink somewhere, Oasis Micro-Pub is nice. Kind of a hole-in-the-wall, but good beers at crazy cheap prices. Carlyle Brewing has had some interesting stuff here and there -- especially their Black Walnut Stout. Pig Minds Brewing just opened up, but it'll be a bit of a drive - it's in Machesney Park, just outside of Rockford.

...Oh yeah, Ballast Point distributes to Rockford. Maybe you'll get lucky and find a case of Victory at Sea.

Thanks for the heads up. This will help. I'll be there off and on for a month. I'll make a few stop at these places.
