Rogue would notice... and then they would brew a beer related to that event.

Stone is about to release a Mocha IPA for the masses. Locally, La Cumbre is going to bring back---and bottle--- their awesome Mind PHOQ pale ale which adds coffee. I'm on board with this. Can't wait for all of these.

I bet you there are those who said the same about a stout and coffee before the first one hit the market.

As someone mentioned above, when brewed right, coffee can show citrusy, berry, and other flavors we associate with IPAs. If that doesn't suit you, coffee produces earthy, floral flavors which....wait for it... are flavors we associate with IPAs. Also, I don't think this is in anyway, Rogue's idea. Plenty have preceded it.

Yeah, as much as some of their beers are deservedly called out for being weird, I'm sure they are perfectly fine people. It's bizarre someone would go there without knowing them personally, and even then it probably wouldn't be appropriate.

Thought of doing something like this with homebrew so I am down to try it.

Picked this up today in VA, I liked Dayman so figured I'd give this a shot.

I was surprised at Flying Fish's Exit 15 Coffee IPA. I'll definitely check this one out if I see it.

A good hearty list of my "wants" list is hoppy IPAs. I've had plenty of coffee stouts/porters, but few brown ales or lighter. I look forward to this release and I'll definitely pick it up.

Is this the beer we're talking about? Had no clue I'd see it 2 hours after seeing this thread.

First thoughts on the aroma: wow. That coffee is yummy.

First thoughts on the taste: 50/50. I'm baffled. Coffee notes have me squealing in for more, but the hop notes contradict it. I think it's growing on me though.

Had it and it was quite tasty. Knew it had just been released so I was not worried about old beer. I hate that Rogue does not have dates on bottles, it sucks !!

Not really off topic because Rogue. I see people like to rip on Rogue for weird, mediocre whatever they wanna say, but. Their amber is awesome. But there is something to say about their beard beer. Id feel some type of way about drinking that.

Friend had it on tap somewhere here in Denver.
He saiid it was the best Rogue beer he has had, FWIW. I'll give it a whirl.

I really liked this beer. Wasn't sure what to expect other than some coffee and hops. It far exceeded my expectations. More balanced than I thought it would be. Some toffee/caramel malty notes with some nutty earthy dark chocolate, perfect coffee, and a bunch of balanced hops not overdone. I've only had a couple Rogue stouts and I enjoyed this more. I'll be looking for more coffee IPA's in the future. Got this over the weekend at Redstone's in MA for $8+

I bought a bottle tonight because why not. I remember trying this beer on tap a little over a year ago and not being crazy about it; I don't know if my palette has changed or if they improved the recipe, but I'm honestly really liking it. It's a lot more balanced and conservative than one might think, but that works in its favor.

I can't remember the last time I had a Rogue beer. If I'm going to spend $3 per ounce, I'd rather drink Ballast Point.

I was very surprised how much I liked that beer and for anyone that gets an opportunity to go to Redstone, it is the best Craft Beer Store I have ever been to......!
