I figured I'd post this here since it's educational, free, and a pretty cool thing in my opinion. Sorry if this is against the forum rules.

Beer writer and historian Ron Pattinson will be lecturing at Jester King on Thursday, March 28th from 6-7pm. He'll be speaking on historic and modern day German sour beer styles. If you've not seen Ron speak before, he's really great. Also, his material at Shut Up About Barclay Perkins is pretty outstanding, if you haven't checked that out. - Jeff

As a homebrewer I have read a bunch of his writings. He is an absolute encyclopedia of brewing knowledge.

Thanks for the heads up. I wish I could make it.

I really wish I could make this, I homebrew so many german sour beer styles, and haven't seen Ron in person before. Alas, I have Family visiting, and I'm sure they wouldn't get the same level of enjoyment.

Thats awesome, if I could make it to Austin then, I would. I love his writing and his sporadic posts in the main forums here.

I'd absolutely love to go to this even though I don't care much about sour beers.
But even if I lived in Austin I don't think there's any way I'd be able to get all the way out to Jester King on a Thursday. It's just too far out of the way.
