So due to horrific rains and flash flooding yesterday, my normal slightly sucky 1 hour commute home turned into a very sucky 2+ hour commute. So I decided to use that, plus possible continued road problems in Connecticut, as an excuse to work from home. And that was a good thing, because I received my first ever box of beer that Fedex required a signature for!!!

Anyway, @Dragginballs76 did a pretty decent, but haphazard, job of drunk packing -- luckily it was almost all cans (2 or 3 per ziplock bag). Some of them were packed upside down in the box, some had multiple cans within a bag facing in different directions, the one bottle's label is missing, and for some odd reason there was a roll of electrical tape left in the box. But overall not too shabby. And a very nice neat and easy to open tape job on the box itself.

Anyway, here's the damage --



Westbrook Citra Brut - this is cool because it's a Brut IPA - so far, I have ticked 104 out of 111 BA styles, with one more in my cellar. And this is one I need!! I have a quick path to 107 since one of the others is easy.
Noda Hop Drop 'N Roll - the only beer in the box I've had before
Burial Resurrection of Riches - we get Burial up in NY, but I've never seen or had this APA.
Resident Culture Industrial Lipstick - this one's a kettle sour with apricots and plums
Resident Culture Thunder Study - I never heard of this brewery, but the beer sounds good
Heist Citraquench'l (crowler!) - if I'm up to it, this might be a Thursday Night Football beer
Heist Native Flightless Bird- a milkshake IPA
Heist Phoenix Trail - like a couple of others in here, this one's a New England IPA
Heist Boy Dance Party (w/Resident Culture) - a DIPA - and I just realized that almost everything in here is from North, not South, Carolina
New Holland Mexican Spice Cake Dragon's Milk (I think) -- I scanned the bar code on the back using the untappd app, and based on the choices and the listed ingredients I'm pretty sure that's what this is. I like Dragon's Milk, my neighbor loves it -- so I'll probably share this one with him.

Thanks Mike! I'm still not sure what inspired this group of clowns to start throwing around ninja boxes in the middle of a BIF, but I will be paying this one (and the LIF I won) forward in the near future.

 

Nice hit @Dragginballs76 ! And LOL at the mexican spice cake, since we just had a whole Scooby Doo mystery solving adventure on what that bottle could be.

 

That's an excellent ninja hit, @Dragginballs76. Mike must have missed the discussion on what that bottle could be a few pages back. Maybe it took place while he was away last weekend? Also, I think Burial has the best combination of tasty beer and amazing can art.

 

Damn I was wondering where that tape went!!! I blamed my wife for taking it. Hope you like everything, that ThunderStudy is an interesting story. It was supposed to go to GABF but for some reason they did not take it and they canned it. Only 6 cases were released and my guy hooked me up with enough to spread the wealth!! That is Mexican Spice Cake can't believe you missed the team effort to figure that one out, you liked the post so you got the beer!!

 

I do recall the discussion, but didn't realize the bottle had no label at all and was probably reading it on my phone on vacation lol. And it might have been after hitting a bunch of breweries, so....

Are you sure that electrical tape is not for gimp maintenance? Nice work @Dragginballs76 . And I’m curious @Mikexw are ninja boxes typically dropped weeks/months after the BIF ship deadline is over? Ninjas make this really fun BIF even funner and I figured what the hell, why wait?

That well-traveled box of Mac n Cheese should have a new home by Friday.

All the beverages from @dprice 's excellent box found a home in my belly. My unexpected favorite was the Tired Hands stout (Gatherer), which had a unique herbal spiciness to it that made it stand out.

I wrote a note you you and signed it with my birth name. I had a picture of an orca whale printed off to put in there as well. I found the picture this morning covered in crayons and markers.
