I see picture on here of random people receiving Black note, which is great, but I live in MI and haven't seen one yet.. that is sad. Ideas? Tips?

If you haven't seen one yet you probably won't see one in the future. I would suggest getting close to some craft beer stores in order to find out about future limited releases to avoid this in the future. Cheers!

Unless you knew someone, it really was only available for a few hours at the most on the day it came out.

Get cozy with your favorite beer stores for the future. This year's is long gone.

SE MI always struggles with limited releases from the breweries. We have a huge population of craft drinkers and the best chance you have to succeed at getting what you want is to find out at your favorite beer store what day Short's, Bells or whoever you are looking for delivers and try to be there early. With the popularity of craft still on the rise it takes a lot of effort to score a bottle and perhaps the easiest route is just to find out who has it on tap at a local bar or pub.

Very true, although the store was lying to people on the phone about the availability of it.

Lying? Come on. Misinformed is more like it.

Well, lets put it this way. I called using a 616 area code phone, and asked about availability. Was told it was gone. Immediately called back using a 269 area code phone, talked to the same person, and was told it was in stock. Went down the street to the store and they had cases of it.

weird. i called from a 773, was told in-stock, and drove up the same day, about a week after the 12oz bottles went on sale.

Moral of the story: Don't bombard stores with phone calls, especially if you are within walking distance. The stores don't owe a person on the phone anything...

It's a goddamned beer conspiracy! I bet the Super Secret Black Note Society had something to do with this....

I have roughly a case if you have some yummy beers to trade for.
