yes - first time shipping. will see how it goes. if no significant issues arise, we’ll continue to offer shipping on the ET releases. GSB is going to remain pick up only.

Posted that on BA at 2:22. Feels bad man. To be honest, I'm not a huge fan of honey in beer so maybe it's for the best.

Hopefully, the shipping experiment goes well and you do it for future releases.

No one's posted about it here yet so I guess I'll be the first to say it: Growing Up Absurd is a phenomenal beer. Absolute killer, probably the best IPA I've had in all of 2020... perhaps the best IPA I've had, period.

I didn't have the first version to compare it to, but everything about this works perfectly. The aroma is so sharp, pronounced, and un-muddled, the mouthfeel is creamy with just a tinge of bite, and the flavors are explosive, complex, and linger in a pleasant manner. My tasting notes often make no sense but I'd say it is very pineapple-forward. And there is a substantial amount of bitterness to anchor it all, which is to my liking. I consider myself so lucky to have multiple 4-packs of this.

Well done Root + Branch and Evil Twin NYC!

Good to hear, I ordered a 4 pack from a mule.

Its extremely well made but let's not get carried away. A ton of New York brewer's are cranking out ipas and a majority of them (98%) aren't good

Just chiming in to add that I absolutely adored Growing Up Absurd. I drank one this past weekend following back-to-back cans of DDH Ghost in the Machine -- consistently among the most hop-saturated DIPAs around -- and it not only wasn't overpowered, but the hop character sung brilliantly as it always does in Anthony's beers. Truly, very few beers in this cohort would be able to say the same sequenced after DDH Ghost.

As a longtime R+B fanboy, I'm super-pumped to see the summer canning hiccups are all cleared up after one heck of a year for R+B beers. The Work of Art in the Age of Mechanical Reproduction, The Assayer, Life and Fate IV, Everyone Stands Beneath Their Own Dome of Heaven, and Darkness at Noon were all among the very best beers I drank in 2020. Cheers!

Assayer was the best TIPA I had this year and The Work of Art in the Age of Mechanical Reproduction had that ideal Galaxy/Vic Secret profile, especially as I drank one at ~10am at GSB (plus googling the title armed me for cocktail conversation with art friends)

Life and Fate V coming Friday/Saturday/Sunday. Will be posting tomorrow most likely. Waiting on GSB to get the pre-sale up.

Nice. L+F IV was my favorite from that series. Haven’t been drinking many (D)IPAs lately but I will definitely make an exception here.

Life and Fate V living up to high expectations - very smooth, great waves of tropical flavor with citrusy bitterness toward/through the finish

I miss the Wednesday release days at Haymaker. Drinking some great beers on draft paired with some delicious food was a plus

Those releases + our semi-frequent hangout events with hvb at proletariat were always a great time. I’m hoping we can resume those things in the post-vax’dworld.

Possibly of interest to this group -- I always enjoy doing an annual rundown of my most memorable beers of a given year:

My Favorite Beers I Had For the First Time in 2020

R+B accounted for 6 of the 40 on my list (though I haven't cracked Life & Fate V yet -- should be getting into one tonight, and I imagine that would've made it 7 total), tied for 2nd with Trillium (Monkish was 1st).

    Here's to more R+B awesomeness in 2021!

Man, you sure do like to focus on a specific style! But so many of those look awesome!

Lol yeah I've had a case of the hazies bad for years now. I keep thinking it might clear up, but we're coming up on five-plus years of hazy obsession, and all told 10-plus years of IPA madness :grinning:.

My friends (and I myself) tease me for being so single-minded, though I actually do enjoy other styles (Supplication is a desert island beer, though that also might be a poor choice on a desert island) -- I just don't chase them the way I do my beloved Hazy DIPAs. I'm also pretty strict in the amount I allow myself to consume in a given week, and so with that restriction in mind I generally focus on primarily consuming beers I know I'll love, if that makes sense.

Yeah, that makes sense, totally. I feel the same way, as I moderate my consumption and do lean heavy into IPA, though that's eased in the past few months. (and HA! on Supplication as a DIB!)

Can confirm that Life & Fate V would have indeed made it seven R+B beers on my favorite beers of 2020 list
