The only place I know of is Landwehr Braeu. Otherwise, it's very touristy. Don't buy more than one "Schneeball", they are good at the beginning but otherwise it gets old fast.
Rothenburg od Tauber? Limited options, but they are there..... Am on the Ipad now.... will fill in more when I get inside to my PC..... I go to Roth yearly....
Typo - Rothenburg Ja - one schneeballen is enough for anyone. Not a bad town to spend an absolutely BEAUTIFUL warm(ish) spring day though! But we never did find any beer worth drinking.
No worries, drop em in here anyway. It's a short jaunt up & over to Rothenburg for us and we will be back regularly. We want to head to Bamburg before we visit Rothenburg again though.
-N8, where are you residing in Deutschland, btw? Roth had no breweries in the town itself for a long while... Until about 3 years ago, and 2 popped up.... One has already closed, but the other is a nano located in the Romantik Hotel Markusturm... Have had their Helles and Dunkel, and both are decent. I love the food at the Gasthof Butz, and they have some Tucher stuff there. Most is average, but I love the Tucher Doppelbock... Most places in town have the Landwehr stuff.... That brewery is about 3km out of town.... an easy bike ride... The Rathaus Café, on Marktplatz, has some different stuff now and then, like Engelbrau.... There's a grocery store across from the Hotel Markusturm called Feinkost Endress that has a decent selection of bottled biers from the area... and I found a shop nearby on the street going from the Markusturm towards the Marktplatz, on the left, that has Maisel big biers (like this: http://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/585/101016/?ba=Bierman9 ). Also, outside the town walls, leaving the Rodertor and heading to the Bahnhof, there's an Edeka that has lots of bottles, including Andechs stuff.... Hope this helps! If you search Rothenburg here on Beerfly, most any place with bier I have noted... Again, I've been to Roth over 20 times, and love the place... Prosit!!
