So is Blind Pig a rip off? Since it's 0.1% lower ABV, it should be more of a rip off than Row 2.

Also, drink alpha session out of a growler. It's better that way anyway.

Huh? Blind Pig is 6.1%, Row 2 is 5.8%. Neither is a great deal at $5 / 500mL -- I imagine this is why they stopped bottling Blind Pig as much....

What are you getting at? I don't understand.

For some reason I thought Row 2 was 6.2. Not sure why.

Regardless, I'll drink Row 2 at that price all day, so if it's too high for other people then awesome, more for me.

This part is funny because we have probably never been into the same store in the same week.

Zombie Dust trades even after shipping are still cheaper than buying Row 2 which is not as good an APA. RR pricing is crazy.

Yes, BP is overpriced. It's a good beer though.

I don't think either of those points are true.

Also, am I the only one in the world who isn't impressed with zombie dust? A 6.4% citra pale should be significantly better than that.

Thanks, between James moving to Vegas real soon, 4thish of July weekend, the ufc ppv etc. . . I decided to break out some of my faves to share around the pool with a few friends. Speaking of which, 3F Schaerbeekse & Tilquin Gueuze added to the list. . .

I definitely will let ya know if we head to RR in 2 weeks. Hoping it happens, just have to get one matter addressed before I can confirm.

I know its a 3 hour drive for ya, but you, Hilary, Abel etc. . . are always more than welcome out here this Saturday, got plenty of space for everyone staying overnight.

I'm not a big fan, but it's rare that I enjoy single hopped Citra beers unless there's a lot more going on in it.

That would be hella sweet, but unfortunately Hill works this weekend. If you come down for RR we should open up a few beers at my place the night before RR, I have plenty of room here.

72oz of ZD is $20 shipped to San Diego. $10 for the sixxer, $10 shipping. The cost per oz goes WAY down if your partner ships you a case. $25 shipping and $35 for the case. Then you're looking at $60 total for 288oz.

72oz of R2 is $21.23 plus tax versus $20 for the ZD.
288oz of R2 is $85.04 plus tax versus $60 for the ZD.

ZD is cheaper, even after shipped especially in quantity. Wow, after that simple math it is even more amazing what a ripoff R2 is. You can argue that R2 tastes better - all opinion. It is a ripoff though and RR gouges for it. It's an APA, not an expensive DIPA hop bomb. The fact that a comparable beer in style and quality is cheaper even when shipped across half the country by an individual - how can you argue R2 is not a ripoff?

I don't know where you're getting those shipping numbers from, but they're not correct. Using FedEx's website (and using the 7.8 lbs I just weighed a 6-pack of 12 ounce bottles at) I see $14.25 for a sixer, and $36.25 for a case. That's without packaging, which would add a decent amount of weight but I don't feel like adding in or making guesses about.

Also, I'm reasonably confident (but admittedly not entirely sure since I don't inspect receipts) that the $5 advertised price at RR includes tax/deposit (etc), which makes their prices look more expensive than they are.

Regardless of all of that, I don't really see why it being more expensive than something else makes it a ripoff. I mean, whether or not the price of something is worth paying is, in regards to beer, just as subjective as how good it tastes. I happen to think that $5 a pint is a perfectly reasonable price to pay for Row 2 and will gladly pay it, and so will lots of other people. That you don't think it's worth that doesn't say anything about whether or not it's correctly priced.

You are correct; $5 includes tax and deposit.
