I went to this place Friday night and was impressed. Solid food with a selection on the level of other great MA beer bars. The oyster event was nice too. The trillium beer ended up being galaxy dry hopped fort point pale $6/16oz instead of the farmhouse.

also went for dinner friday night. 1hr wait at the bar, 3 hours for tables at 6:30. bartender (who was allegedly the first chef at lord hobo) took pity on us and found a pair of seats at the bar in about 5 minutes.... not sure about those wait times, pretty crazy. or maybe it was my friend checking his phone for other local food options... but i really enjoyed the oysters and tap list, though the burger was not up to par with the rest. potted trout was super.

Large format cantillon bottles for $18??? Am I reading that right? Maybe the $18 is a placeholder copy/pasted from the Allagash entry below it since there are no specific bottles specified.

The tap list is definitely appealing, and conveys all the information I want on a menu – which is not common, so kudos to that. They also spelled Jack’s Abby correctly so they clearly know what they’re doing :grinning:. Can’t wait to visit soon.

The menu listed the classic gueuze as 12.7oz/$22 on friday I think. One bottle not listed there is Taras Boulba for $6. That was an easy decision for my first beer.

They are the talk of the town so wait times could be ridiculous right now as they do take reservations.

Went last night. Beyond solid. Chatted with the beer director for a while, forget her name even though she told me twice... She has put together a fucking amazing list, both draft and bottle. All geared toward working harmoniously with the food, abd it examplifies a quality over quantity selection.
Food was on point as well. I was very, very impressed. Couldn't find a single flaw to speak of, and the chowder is the best in the city. This place is a winner, and if they keep it up will be a landmark in Fort Point years down the road. Service was great, to the tune of 35%.
Couldn't have been happier with the place, especially at those prices... My wife and I ate course after course and drank like 6 rounds and escaped under $160. Migh have been comped for a couple things, not sure, but even still really inexpensive.

I need to make a trip to this place since it's received great reviews. Maybe hit Trillium first for growler fills.

Went last night, liked it a lot. Cantillon Classic for $22, though not the large format. Especially fond of the Tilquin Gueuze on tap and the Oude Tart. Great beer spot

Went this Wednesday for my second trip and had another great experience. The chowder is outstanding and cooked to order which is pretty cool.

Went last night. Impressive tap list and some great bottles available. Had one of the best lobster rolls I've ever had - warm buttered lobster on a buttery roll, and they probably gave you at least a full lobsters worth of meat.

I stopped in briefly last Friday after filling some growlers at Trillium. I had to catch a train, so I could only stay for a pint of Congress St. IPA, but I am eager to return and explore more of the tap list, not to mention the oysters and the rest of the menu. One nice additonal note about the beer program - they offer 1/2 pours of anything they serve in 16 oz. size. You don't see that too often in Boston, and another thread made me remember seeing it on the menu.

Good to hear--we need more bars serving half-pints. I haven't been yet, but this place seems to be doing a lot right: stellar beer list, clearly posting prices and sizes, and now serving half-pints.

This place is legit ... their beer list rivals all of the Boston are beer bars and being their menu is almost all seafood it is a win win for me. They have no problem giving you a taste of whatever you want before you order ... oh yeah, the service is top notch.

It looks like a great spot, willing to check it out soon.....

With that said, their prices seem very steep but considering the real estate, I'm not surprised. Some things I noticed on the latest bottle list posted has 5050 EW for $40 and Tilquin Gueuze for $30. I hope people are smarter than that. I guess the caveat to that is it is cool they're bringing in unique items to a bar/restaurant.

Bottle prices aren't that bad. The 5050 stuff is $31 retail. 750 of Tilquin is $23 retail.

Wine is usually a 4x markup, so the 5050 is not too bad actually, since that stuff is expensive.

draft beer is better 99 times out of 100. I never pay attention to bottle lists

I'd lean draft most of the time too but I am also interested in unique bottles. Nice to see Cantillon at a Boston restaurant.

The service is amazing here. They were extremely generous with samples when asking about a new beer and Matty (an employee) even had a bottle of a rasberry lambic he brewed 18+mo ago that he so kindly shared with me.

The cold lobster roll was a hit.
