Sorry if this is a silly question, but I saw on the Russian River website that they distribute their beers to Portland. I also saw while poking around Google that they also pulled out of market a few years back.

I'm heading to Portland this weekend and was just wondering if they are still selling RR stuff in Portland and if there are any places you recommend going that seem to have it regularly (tap or bottles are fine...I won't be picky on that). I really would love to try some of their other beers outside of Pliny (but if that's all I could find, I wouldn't be upset for a second).

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Pliny bottles are no longer available, but you can still get it and Blind Pig on draft. Apex normally has them.

I think Oregon still gets bottles of the -tion beers, though.

Russian River pulled out of Washington completely a couple years back, just partially cut back in Oregon.

We don't get bottles of Blind Pig or Pliny anymore, and the sours are hit or miss, so your odds of finding anything packaged is slim. That said, they send kegs of BP & Pliny to town every 4-5 weeks, so if you check the taplists at the beer bars in town you can almost always find one or both pouring somewhere.

Unless something weird happens, the Horse Brass pretty much always has one or the other pouring, and Apex has Pliny on quite often (although it's not on their list today), but they charge more for it than everyone else in town.

Very cool! Thanks both for the feedback. I had Horse Brass on my must visit list, so I'll toss Apex on there, as well.

Is this place not getting the hook-up any more? http://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/24185/?view=ratings

I pulled up Twist on Untappd. Looks like folks have been checking in on Pliny and Blind Pig recently. I also saw that they had a few Younger check-ins scattered between 2/21-2/28. The keg lasted a week!

OP...Twist is in Pacific City, about a 2hr drive from Portland.

Apex had about six different bottles available yesterday, but be prepared for a pretty high markup.

I saw RR sours (temptation and consecration) on the shelf at the Whole Foods on Fremont/15th recently, single faced as if they put out a bottle at a time. They could still have some, but I'd imagine any guess as to where you may stumble onto them is a crapshoot. But it could happen.

I would also check out Roscoe's in SE Portland, they very frequently have RR on tap. I also saw bottles of Consecration at the Tin Bucket last week. Best of luck

Apex did have Pliny on tap a couple months back - maybe they dont get it anymore...it was right around new years i think.

It was on at Apex last week. It will be back soon. Always is.

keep an eye on online tap lists for bars around the city.

As for bottles, I see the -tions at New Seasons rarely. I think John's Market has it more frequently, but that could have changed since I last went there about two years ago.

When I was in town a few weeks back Bailey's Upper Lip had bottles of 2014 Temptation for $15 (compared to the $35 2011 bottles at Apex.) According to the website they still have it.

All the advice is awesome! We get in to Portland on Monday, so I am going to be doing some wandering to keep an eye out for any and all RR.

Thanks again for the help. Y'all are wonderful.

Ha, that's the plan. Same plan while I'm in Seattle a few days prior.

Any absolutely can't miss beers worth recommending? I'm open to anything.

Aside from the Portland breweries look for Boneyard, Block 15, Logsdon, de Garde, Barley Browns, Crux and Ale Apothecary.

While in Seattle look for Bale Breaker, Fremont, Holy Mountain, Reuben's and Black Raven.

Shrug. If you like IPA's/DIPA's, the new DIPA from Block 15 is pretty tasty (the incredible). Bottles may be all gone by the time your get here (limited release B15 stuff tends to fly off the shelf pretty quickly), but if you see it on tap, I'd say give it a whirl.
