    Good Morning BA Folks,
I was just informed that I have a 5 day weekend starting Wednesday, and with no real plans after the 4th I've decided on making the two hour trek to Russian River. I've heard this place gets super packed, so I wanted to hear any recommendations on what day and time would be best?

    Thanks for any advice.

As soon as they open/middle of the week is probably the only time they are not packed. In my opinion, they're just too popular for that space at this point.

Show up at opening. You'll have an hour of no real crowds.

Thanks Gents, I'll be sure to get there early to insure I get a seat at the bar. Any one feel like being a DD? Haha

^ Haha Thx. I got that nickname from a drunk aunt that felt like she had to yell it across a family party. Everyone from the kids to my grandma laughed their asses off.

"Pinche Oso" is pretty much saying, "Fucking Bear.." but coming out of a drunk aunt at a family party is just hilarious. Now when ever I go to her house I always get, "My Pinche Oso!" Haha

Try and go when they open on Sunday. It's all day happy hour, so it will probably be more crowded than the other days, but should be ok that early.

Avoid Thursday evening. I believe they are tapping a keg of Brux (or go then, if you really want to try it!). Check their newsletter for exact details.

    Cheers and enjoy your visit.

On weekdays I'm a big fan of showing up around 2:30-3:00 in the afternoon. The lunch crowd is gone and by the time you are done with your first beer happy hour pricing kicks in.

I was going to say "for the love of god, if you're worried about crowds, don't go Sunday." Sundays are always packed. Even if you get there early and get a seat at the bar (which it sounds like OP wants to do) you'll be mobbed by people trying to order and such. If OP really just wants a seat and doesn't care after that, then any day at opening should be fine, but I'd avoid weekends if you want a calm environment.

They can really be hit or miss. I go there with my wife and five year old daughter on Sunday's; some days we get some nice patio seating, some days we take one look and say 'forget it.' it's at least worth a shot for happy hour pricing.

Haha, not if you're driving two hours each way! That's like $10 in gas alone...

It probably depends on when you show up, but whenever I'm there in the early afternoon it's jam-packed. Locals might know better.

True. I have a different perspective, living 5 minutes from the brewery.

Thanks Everyone! The only reason I wanted a seat at the bar is this will be a solo trip, so I'm trying to be where the action is. I also just got invited to the A's beerfest event on Saturday, so this trip will have to be either Thursday or Friday. If anyone is up for drinking early, I'll be the big Mexican guy at the bar drinking a little to much of everything. HAHA JK Have a fun and safe 4th of July everyone!

I was there July 2, walked in at about 6, immediately got a table, ate a pizza and spent the next couple hours drinking beer. No pre-planning, no problems. Come to think of it, I don't think I've ever had to wait more than 5-10 minutes. I've never gone when they had the Younger, or tried to go on Saturday night or on a holiday but I'm just saying, it's not always super crowded.

What a LONG day. hahaha :grinning:

First beers of the day, Row 2 / Hill 56 & Blind Pig @ 11am.

After the first 2 pints, I had to try everything on the board. Enjoyed everything!

And I stayed after 5pm so I was one of the first to try BRUX on tap. (I'm missing a few pictures of about 3 Pliny the Elder beers in between.) haha

Had such a great time! I can't wait for my next trip. I was also offered to stay at some ladies house but her man kind of freaked me out. HAHA Like I said what a night.

Glad you had a good time!

How was the Brux release? I thought about heading over there, but didn't want to deal with a crowd.
