To be fair, the place where they likely got it is required by law to sell bombers by no smaller amount than by the case.

Also known as every liquor store in the state of Pennsylvania...
Has anyone asked why they have a law that, as far as I can tell, legally mandates binge-drinking over tasting?

If it were only that convenient. At case-only stores, they only sell beer, soft drinks, water, some chips. If you want wine or liquor, you have to go to state run stores that usually have below-average selections and always have higher-than-average prices. Yay, PA laws!

They have a new IPA coming out called "Enjoy By 9/21". If it takes as long as Ruination 10th did to hit, then it will drop less than a week before it expires. Awesome.

Total Wine in Claymont, DE sold out 2 cases today, but the one on Rt. 7 still has 8/12.

Because this is the way it has always been, and now tavern owners cry foul when legislature is brought forward to end case law because they have a monopoly on 6 pack sales. They also refuse to separate beer sale legislature from liquor privatization. The Malt Beverage Distributor Association uses their lobbying power to ensure liquor is not privatized because then big box stores like Total Wine would swoop in and pull the rug out from under them. Then you have additional lobbyists from "special interest groups" who think changing all these laws will somehow increase drunk driving and underage drinking, and the state store union workers who don't want to lose their safe jobs and government benefits.

That's a rough if not entirely accurate summation for you.

Total wine still had a few on the shelf today. I reserved 3 and picked them up but they still had 2 or 3 on the shelf as of an hour ago.

I just picked up a bottle at Whole Foods in Plymouth Meeting. They only had a case of bombers and there were only three left after me. $6.49...what a deal.

Only correcting this in case another reader sees this and goes "OMG you can only buy cases at all liquor stores in PA?!"

You can't buy beer in liquor stores, it's sold separately. And while most places that sell beer can only do so by the case, there are many other places where you can buy beer in smaller quantities. There are lots of other threads that can explain in detail. Like I'm said, only correcting for those who might read that and get the wrong idea.

Holy smokes, PBURLAND23. $6.49 a bomber at Whole Foods!? That is amazing. I paid $12 a bottle at Mari's Six Pac 'n' Mor in Reading, PA. What a total rip off that place is. I knew that was a bad price... but really just wanted to get a taste of this beer as I've been a Ruination fan for many years.

Regarding the Southern DE disribution issue, it has been addressed with our wholesaler and is in the process of being rectified. IRS was indeed shipped to DE on time and started going out, but for some reason was halted. I will take responsibilty for the miscommunication and will do my best to make sure it doesn't happen again with future Special Releases. Stone 16th Anniversary IPA is on track already and should start hitting shelves on time (mid August).

Thanks for checking into this, Lee. I know a lot of people (and bar owners) were pretty bummed they weren't getting to try these beers. I'll spread the good word.
