Agreed. There would be no other reason. Stone know their business but I still prefer the uniqueness of the original. Either way, like you said, I have like a billion IPAs to choose from.

    Cheers!

For the record, the old version is my all time favorite IPA. It's a shame they couldn't keep it around, but if it wasn't selling, what can you do?

I haven't had the 2.0 yet but so far.

Levitation > Goto IPA though I love both of these alot so I don't want one to go away
Pale Ale > 2.0 and this one isn't even close. I'll never buy 2.0 again, it wasn't bad, but there's just ZERO reason to buy it again. Pale Ale wasn't a go to but it was nice and I always got it if i saw it on tap.

Ruination's biggest issue was it was over priced compared to other beers on the market. It was still great beer. Oh well, when I find a store with 2.0 in stock (it's going fast here) I'll give it a go.

I find that 2.0 is better on the nose (reminds me of Hopslam) but I prefer the original by a wide margin.

Time for Stone to refresh their griffin to be less menacing, more mellow? Here's my poor attempt. You're welcome.[IMG]

I really enjoy the 2.0, and can see myself purchasing it regularly. There is also a genuine connection to the original in there that I appreciate. But, in the end, the best I can see is that I will eventually like it as much as the original, never more than. There is an unapologetic aggressiveness that seems to be missing in the new version, so I voted for original recipe.

Why does the new label say "double IPA", but the original one does not? Did people just not call things double IPAs back then?

I prefer the OG. Although the Newbie is only $5.99/bomber at Costco

The original was a FANTASTIC beer from this company. I haven't seen the 2.0 around my neck of the woods yet but from what many of you are saying I'm not going to be disappointed.
