After doing intervals on the track I usually have a couple of Leffe brun because that's the only thing on draft there. After the long distance runs, and when I'm hydrated enough I have whatever I fantasized about those last few miles.

Best post race beer experience was a Heady Topper right after I broke my personal best on a 10k.

Most of my running is done after work, and most of my post run replenishment is beer. Few things are better than finishing a race at 10 in the morning and enjoying a nice brew, unfortunately, most races think Mich Ultra is somehow acceptable to drink after running for 3+ hours.

The best single beer experience I've ever had was drinking a Heady on Camel's Hump after essentially sprinting to the top with my girlfriend. Highly lucid senses, + thirst, + the serene beauty of mother nature + Heady = extreme euphoria!

After a long summer workout (run or biking) I normally graviate to something like Sweetwater IPA or Two Hearted. The "citrusy" IPA's always hit the spot immediately post run. My tastes change through out the day though.

I did a sour tasting a while back, gave me the runs. Does that count?

I would only ever run if I were being chased, but after I play tennis for a couple hours I like to have a beer. I cannot say I drink immediately after, but after I've rehydrated I'll drink whatever style.

I usually run in the mornings so no beer right after. I save the beer for when im entering the 4th or 5th hour of studying property or civil procedure each night.

I do a series of runs in Cambridge throughout the summer, 4.2 miles. (Lets Run and Be Fit Series). Harpoon is a race sponsor, and after the race there are several kegs of Harpoon available until the run out. Great motivation to run faster, as the faster you finish the more free beer you'll get. Lucky for me I'm pretty fast sub 6:30 mile. I just make sure to drink a Gatorade and a glass of water along with my beer. I find that after an intense run it takes a little bit longer for alcohol to "hit you" but then it comes on strong, so you need to be somewhat responsible/reserved. Nothing better than setting a personal record and then drinking a fresh draft IPA (for free).

    cheers

been running for 5+ years now, and doing marathons for 4. Nothing is better then putting my feet up on the couch Sunday afternoon after 15+ miles and sipping on a DIPA guilt free.

I don't run (far too lazy for that), but I do race MX and offroad. After two 20 minute motos, or a grueling hour and a half race, there is absolutely nothing better than an IPA.
Right alongside a cooler full of water and Gatorade is 2 beers. Beer and winning go hand in hand. There is one race I didn't drink after, and that was a 12 hour race that I did ironman. I was far too physically and mentally exhausted to even open a bottle.

Avatar says it all. After we finished the mudder back in may, I ran straight past the dos equis table and straight to the trunk of my car where 4 fresh headys were waiting in the cooler. I'm not sure I tasted the first one, but the subsequent three were glorious!

I'm not much of a runner, but I am a cyclist. It's not as big a deal after short distances, but say metric century (63miles) on up, I do start thinking about one afterwards. And let me tell you, after a full century (100 miles) there isn't anything in the world that tastes as good, and it doesn't even matter what it is, as long as it's not BMC.

Same here. Weekdays = morning runs, but during weekends I like to run in the late morning/early afternoon and then head out to a brewery.

Sitting down as I type this and opening a Zombie Dust after a swim followed by a 6 miler. If I could rate this it'd be a 6/5 right now. Yum

I drank a La Cumbre IPA the other day after biking it to and from the gym and running 4 miles on the treadmill.. it was awesome.

I run marathons so I can drink beer. Or maybe vice versa. It's hard to tell. Kicking back with S&S4 last night after a 7-mile midweek training run was delightful.

I love having a crisp IPA or PA after a run, but let me tell you, nothing taste sweeter than a beer after a rugby match. The feeling that you really earned that beer makes it taste that much greater.

Since I do most of my running at 4:30am, there are ne beers waiting for me. But for the rare aftenoon/evening run, a nice Workhorse will always do.
