Rushing Duck (2018)

Just when there are releases pretty much, although they will be in stock for a few weeks, depending on the beer. They are now doing crowlers.

when was the last time RD released cans of DBZ or War Elephant? seems like it's been a looong time but could just be me.

 

When I was there last weekend I asked the bartender at Duck In about War Elephant. She wouldn't commit but hinted soon. Last year they brewed a special, super hoppy version of War Elephant. Maybe they'll do it again for the anniversary celebration on the 25th.

 

They might want to tone down the hops. That beer was over the top

 

I agree. I was like eating eating hops out of a feed bag.

 

Oh man, wonder what that says about me that I just loved it? Hope they do it the same way, plus add some mosaic.

 

Actually, I didn't mean to imply that I disliked the 5th Anniversary War Elephant (in fact I rated it highly) but that I agree with @SammyJaxxxx that it was unbelievably hoppy. IIRC, you and I were there on the release day in the old (Duck Put) tasting room.

 

What’s the chances that sees distro? I would love to get that.

 

I haven’t seen any of their collabs in the city. Kinda bummed.

 

I haven’t seen any Rushing Duck, period, in so long I can’t tell you the last time I had anything from them. The Newburgh angle was the one that I thought may make it into the city or LI (that’s pretty doubtful though).

 

I meant Newburgh too. I’d usually see them in Whole Foods if nowhere else but not so much these days.

But War Elephant is on tap, this collab is there in cans, I'm guessing that there are still cans of Chained to the Dead. I may be heading up there tomorrow

 

I went up to RD today for cans of Chained to the Dead and Elephant Boss. I'm going to wait till NBS to review the Elephant Boss. I drank a pint of RDR&D Mosaic and while it is fine I was a little disappointed given how much I like Mosaic hops and how good some of the other single-hop variants have been. It's not nearly as good as Carton's 07871. I passed on the cans. I also tried Sitting Duck, the American Barleywine collab with Peekskill. It was one of the fruitiest Barleywines I've had. A lot of apple! I liked it. My wife went with me and she complimented the food truck. High praise coming from her. RD is still one of my very favorite breweries to visit.

 

$15 for a 4-pack of Imperial Beanhead is as big of a bargain there is. Damn. Too bad I’ll never be able to get it. All 3 sound awesome.
