Does anyone know if RD is planning on bottling their brews any time soon?

They are already bottling. Their RIS is around. Their barleywine has been bottled as well. I certainly catch their beers on draught much more frequently though.

Yeah they have been bottling in 750ml format for a few select brews. What they need to do is put in a canning line and throw War Elephant, Baby Elephant and Naysayer in cans.

What's their distro like? How far from Chester do they send kegs/bottles? I really want to try some of their stuff, but I'm in Rochester.

Depending on your style preferences, I'd encourage a visit when they have either War Elephant, Beanhead, or Nimptopsical on.

I was able to try them at Tap two weeks ago and also grabbed a couple bottles of Ded Moroz, which I really liked. I'm assuming they have bottles at the tap room. And War Elephant is a must have when you go. Fantastic beer.

Looking quickly at all of those, they all look up my alley. Kroovy also sounds quite tasty.

Nimptopsical is pretty decent and i believe they put that into rum barrels and will most likely be bottling at some point. Ded Moroz (RIS) was bottled this past winter and is solid....Just bought a bottle in Albany a week or so ago. Dog's Bollocks was their barrel aged English barleywine and that was excellent. Kroovy was a nice hoppy red ale...up there w/ Zoe from MBC IMO.

War Elephant in cans?! Ah, that would be perfect!

Visited the place last weekend. I just dig those little hole-in-the-wall places that crank out great product. The bottling is limited to hand bottling 750 ml bottles and no War Elephant is bottled. Curses. When I asked about a bottling or canning line, I was told they have room for one but it's the cost that's making it difficult to justify at this time. Should we start a fund?

Ded Moroz is a good beer and all, and I'm glad I picked it up when I did, but I don't think it's a standout in its style like War Elephant, Kroovy and Naysayer are. When they get around to packaging those I will definitely be a happy camper.

I for sure will. Probably sometime mid summer. What's their setup like? Is it just growlers/sample tastings, or can you sit down and knock back a few pints?

It's a small tasting room, open only Fri. and Sat. for part of the day. Tastes are free, and the opportunity to talk to Dan while drinking his beer is, at least to me, the most pleasant drinking experience for a homebrewer to enjoy. Great place to make part of a tour of our abundance of great local beer. Let's do them all!

For sure, Rushing Duck is really high on my list of new (to me) breweries to visit (might be #1, Trillium in Boston might be #2). Have you ever gotten out here in WNY to try some of our local stuff? If you're ever out here, I could show you the ropes as well.

I was impressed by the Community and Horseheads beers I have tried, also all the new Ithaca stuff we had at the release of Luminous. Heard Druthers won Gold for their Sour German Ale. Would purely love to join you in visiting some of your locals, maybe late summer / early fall.

Both of those breweries are great, The IPA from Community Beer Works is super tasty. I think Druthers is in Saratoga, haven't been there yet. We just got a new brewery on Keuka Lake, a farmhouse brewery called Abandon Brewing, I think you'd really like them.
