Has anyone successfully landed one of these lately? After some searching I see a bunch of people have posted ISOs recently but no sign that any of the trades were completed. Ideally, I'm looking for a 3L Temptation for my wedding in Fall 2014 - does anyone know if they plan to do these again? Just trying to get a handle on what I actually need to do to get one instead of randomly fishing with ISOs. Any info is appreciated.
I was offered a BA Dark Lord for one, but I turned it down. I'd probably do it for 2. Something brewery-only in the range of 100 bottles will do it.
My attempt on three different sites offering a 750ml Blabaer, Sour in the Rye w/Peaches and Grey Monday (all) only got one reply and that was someone offering a 3L Supplication. (Insert Bruery joke here)The 3L Temptation bottles haven't been available in over a year from the brewery which also plays into the lack of people looking to trade a bottle. Best of luck on your search.
I almost gave up a rare and a deviation for one. It was supplication, I too want one for my wedding this July. I want it more for the novelty, I have no problem giving up a rare beer plus locals to make up the price diff, but it seems everyone wants $4$ in rare beers....oh well
I have one and there are a bitch to track down since RR doesn't release them often and only a handful at a time. Imagine FFF releasing 5-10 DL 3ltr every year at $90 and ask your self wouldn't you want very limited releases in return.
I landed a Supplication batch 006 3L and gave up a Temptation batch 006 3L in return. Thats the only time that I have traded for a 3L. As far as things that they trade for, my last trade involving 3Ls, I traded a 3L of Consecration and Temptation for Blauw and Blabaer. I'd say the novelty of the Blabaer was worth the trade, but I'd rather have a bunch of Fou Foune and St. Lamvinus instead of Blabaer in heartbeat. I haven't tried the Blauw yet, so hopefully it will blow my socks off. As far as if they are going to make 3L Temptation again, I'm sure the answer is yes. On the last batch of Temptation (whatever the date is on those) they were only made available to the RR workers. So the last time that Temptation 3L were released to the public was batch 006. I'm hoping one of these days I'm around when some of the employees want to open up their 3L Beatification or Compunction bottles that I know are out there! Doing a search on this site should also give you a few results on other people that have asked this question on this forum as well!
Forgot to also mention almost all of the bottles are being traded by noCal traders. If you remember Beatification batch 5, enough said. (For the record, this comment and my location just guaranteed I'll never trade for one of these. ;-) )
Ah, okay - I wasn't aware of this, thanks for the info. Sounds like my best bet would be to hold out for a newer release of that or Supplication. I expect to give up a bunch of nice bottles for one, but at this point I doubt there's many 3L Temptations that could be unearthed without going way over the top.
They only release around 60 at a time, at least for the latest Supplication release, if I recall correctly, that's around how many they had. So they're out there, and from what I've seen in posts most people want to do IP trades with these bottles because shipping large and heavy beer seems to put people off. Good luck OP!
The last release of 3l Consecration-56 Temptation-30 for employees only Supplication-78 (I think) I'd imagine when the new batch of supplication or consecration is ready they will bottle some up.
My experience has been that 3L wine bottles are not as tall as the bottles used by breweries, and so a 5/6L shipper is needed. Still readily available at Bottle Barn though.
Recently? A friend needed to ship on of his 3ls and checked there and didn't have any. I'm ISO of them this weekend for a Monday shipment. Bottle barn it is
In 2011 supplication 3L were available at RR regularly. They would put out 2 or 3 behind the bar and if someone asked about it then they would sell it, no sign or anything. I was with a friend and we saw a guy leaving with a 3 L so we asked the bartender if they were for sale. We each bought a 3L for $75
