I'm assuming they will sell you cases of beer, but how much do they usually go for? Do they just charge you $5x24 for a case of pliny or how does that work. Also for their Belgian Inspired Ales, are their cases 355mlx12 or 355mlx24. If anybody knows that'd be great. I'm excited to visit the brewery soon someday and would love to get excited over buying a case. Maybe a mixed case. OoOooooO.
There's no discount for cases. Pliny/BP are 24 per, belgians/sours are 12. And the bottles are 375mL, not 355. Also, if you're at the brewery and going to be buying lots of beer, just go to Bottle Barn. Way, way cheaper, and just up the road. Pliny/BP are a dollar off each, over a case that definitely makes the drive worth it.
Man, they really get their money's worth. Especially after switching to 375ml bottles from 750. I love the small bottles, my favorite. I never want to share them.
And as was pointed out by someone in another thread somewhere, another irony/potential downside of buying your PtE at the brewpub is that you run the distinct risk of getting bottles older than ones you might see elsewhere - I was at RR a little while ago, when the 4/17 bottling was (and still is?) the most current, yet when I bought 2 PtEs to go, I ended up with a pair of 4/10 bottles. Go figure.
I think people freak out about the freshness of IPAs too much. I think over a month old, slight fading but still mostly delicious. But anymore than 3-4 months and it is mostly, mostly malt.
My kids sounded like this when we talked about going to the local amusement park. "I'm excited to visit Crystal Beach soon someday and would love to get excited over buying a candy apple. Maybe a caramel corn. OoOooooO
it's five out the door instead of 3.99 + tax & CRV, unless you plan on stopping off at bottle barn anyway you also save on gas and time. plus bottle barn might be out of Pliny or Blind Pig...
