I’ve heard RR ships to Colorado, including Ft Collins, but it’s not in great numbers. I have family there this week. Are there any sours or Pliny around town?
No longer available in Northern Colorado. Closest location is Hazel's in boulder. Their distributor (Elite) sold their rights to the MillerCoors distributor (High Country) and Russian River declined to sign with them. They will now only be available in Denver Area and select spots in boulder county.
I can't speak for Ft Collins, but the sours are hanging around now. 5+ years ago, the sours were basically shelf turds, then something happened, and they'd disappear as fast as Pliny. That phenomena seems to have ended in the last year or so. I guess maybe the competition has increased for sours, and also consumers aren't chasing trucks to board $15+ small bottles of the sours. Anyway, you should be able to find the sours, and maybe get Pliny or Blind Pig on draft. It will take some luck and good timing to get bottles of Pliny.
The Russian River sours do sit on shelves a bit longer than they used to, but I think Fort Collins loaded up on them before the distributor switch, too, so there's some extra hanging out. Should be no problem grabbing Consecration or Supplication. There are no Pliny bottles north of Boulder, though (unless they are old).
I'll be in the Denver this weekend, are there any shops near Westminster/Thornton that carry bottles of Pliny or the sours?
