I have a hook up that lives 10 minutes from the Russian River brewpub. How much does bottles of Pliny and Blind Pig IPA cost at the brewpub?

If he drives to the Bottle Barn nearby they're $4.49/bottle, and usually fresher batches. I don't know if Bottle Barn will let you buy a whole case though.

Seriously? How do they have fresher than the brewpub? Sell more of it, so stock goes faster?

Bottle Barn doesn't shelf stock Pliny anymore (I think you have to ask for it, which makes me think they are limiting purchase qty). It is $5/btl at the brew pub, tax inclusive. BB is cheaper, but I think it is pretty much a wash after they charge sales tax.

True: I often find Pliny/Pig fresher on the shelf.

The only bottled beers RR releases year-round are Pig, Pliny, and Damnation. You just have to get lucky with the other -tion beers (personally I haven't seen Salvation on a shelf in months).

Definitely had Pliny and Blind Pig, as I picked up a few of each. Not sure on Salvation.

I'm pretty sure you're right. It's been a while since I was up there.

They do a good job of updating their website with what bottles they have at the brewpub.

That is just the brewpub. I really wish it weren't, because I haven't been able to find Temptation in damn near a year now.

In the past, I have been able to buy a case per person at RR. But when I was at RR at the end of March, they limited PtE and BP to a half case (12 bottles) per person OR 1 case per table. They said it was because they were running low on the last batches and didn't want people to buy them all out. Besides those, you can typically get out of their with 1 case of each of their sours and whatever else. I suggest your friend goes on a weekday when they aren't as slammed (they are always busy it seems) as the weekend, get a couple beers and food at the bar and be nice to the bartender and they may hook it up a little more.

As Funky said, Bottle Barn has been keeping PtE in the back as I recall, so you may have to ask for some. The best thing about Bottle Barn is that you can buy as many RR's sours as they have in stock for $2-3 less per bottle than the brewery.

Good to know about BB. If I do not drive out there I know that Monument Liquor has Pliny (2 bottle limit) and Supplication, Sanctification, and Consecration in stock at the same price as the brewpub.

The limited my friends to only 6 bottles each of Elder at the brewery this past weekend. Not sure if that's the new limit now per person. Just have your friend take his ol' Lady or something.

The last temptation I saw was in november in San Jose, drank it immediately not knowing that it was going to fall off the face of the earth. Wish I had held onto it now. Last time I had it at brewpub was pty.
